skinny yes! we shall see where the monkeys pile this year...

Had to go down with a snow shovel to dig out a bud foolish to try going for a look the other day, first big drift, tried to bulldog thru, unh-unh... nothing but taillights sticking out of the drift.

I'll check it out after a few more good thaw days, as I am sure you will. Pray for about 6 weeks SW winds to push the sand back, but please mother nature leave some structure!

There are many areas that can only be fished two or three people max, and if one of those fishers is a newbee or just an a$$ Ooo, chit usualy getts ugly.

Story Time:)

so............one summer morning myself and buddie got up early to scup fish. we where there either at dark or sunrise, its a bit of a walk to this area, it has a small strech of rocks that stick out, on one side its rocky and the other(scup side)its not. After being there for a while i could see two guys headed in our direction. There are fishable waters at least 100 yrds before they reached us, they had walked right to our spot. Slowly they took off the rubba bands off there rods(i ain't got nuttin agains rubba bands) and they did everything slowly.

I was in my late 20's and they where mid 40's or 50... then they proceeded to cast directly over my head....let me tell you ''chit hit the fan''. I yelled... "I'm gonna cut your f'in line... break your f'in rods... who in the f do you think you are". I though I was going to blow a blood vessel.....I'm not chitin you. I continued fishing, witching the whole time, I told'em...... had you got your ass's outa bed earlyer you would have had this spot to yourselfs, he replied.... you think you own the ocean , your gonna tell me when to get outa bed..... to avoid doing something I would regret and have to live with for the rest of my live...... I pulled my rods out and left. I remember the bite had died. I've gotten into red tape with simular situations in the past and handled them a whole lot better....after that day I've changed my out look on dusty pole fisherman. I gotta admit I lost my cool and the old boys kept there's ...so who had best morning...the guy with the stress free fishin...it ain't always about catchin fish.

This poll has been an eyeopener for me. I was under the impression that as Boat guy, I had to put up with more crap. But after reading these posts, and with the little surf fishing experince I have, I can see that you surf guys have to put up with the same BS I do. I went surfishing 4 times last year and yes, one time I had to deal with a claim jumper. I just walked right up to him shoulder to shoulder and chucked my lure. He moved on. I was pissed for a second though. On the boat I fished 40 times or so and had 4 incidents 2 claim jumpers and 2 masters of the sea driiving over my bait. Precentage wise 10% bs factor on the boat and a 25% bs factor surfcasting.

Well as a boat guy the only thing I hate is thew a hole who is fishing a drift and you are also drifting then it is time for him to move as you are still drifting and he puts the dam thing full throttle and flys about 10 feet from you Knocking the sh#t out of everthing in your boat. I had one such #$#$ last year do this to me 3 times when I lost it. I got my boat going waited for himm to get comfy and then I went and did about 5 circles around him causing a reel uncomfertabl drift to him. Then i told him you rock me even a little one more time today I will sink that $%T$# Boat with you in it. well he was gone after that. That was the 1 weekend day I fished last year. And I then rembered why I don't fish weekends.

Duke, macajoe and you other boaters:

There is a good article in the OTW special edition (picked it up at the boatshow) on TROLLING ETIQUETTE...

Couple of stories in there too, all rings the same to what has been discussed here.

Its agreed then,,, there are a-holes by land and by sea.....
