Thanks george. I took a nice mid 30 on the lipless swimmer you made. The fish was released so you can catch him. Nice job on that plug, rolls a little more than the original musso, but the fish don't seem to mind a bait being tossed around struggling.

Thats a great fish to be had on top water. What does the sideways peace sign mean again?

Eskimo,

Never forget that strike and explosion.

The sideway peace sign is for a tournament that is run on another site (not sure about posting other sites here so I will refrain). Its catch and release so you can weight the fish take a picture with the sign and release the fish and still be eligible.

Kindest,
Billy

I haven't been carrying the camera since the phone 'incident'. I've had a few fish on darters and pencils into the low & mid 20's, but nothing over 30 since the end of may...

numbskull 07-06-2010 05:59 PM

I've not had any over 20 since November :smash:

SurfCaster413 07-06-2010 06:56 PM

Good lord, you've got Backbeachitis.(Actually my form of suffering is worse as you inexplicably catch nothing at all while others around you tong away) There is really no known cure for this as prayer, plugbuilding, and community service are simply feelgood elixirs and have no measurable effects.

My advice is to simply state you don't fish anymore due to family, work, and personal issues. Eventually, and the day will come, you'll sneak out the door way past midnight, undetected by the masses, eels in hand, and within a few short hours all will be right again...keep the bag on your head though if you decide to collect photo proof of this phenomenon.

Dave Peros 07-13-2010 10:35 AM

Actually, eels are even being snubbed with all the pogies being chummed about in the sounds and around the Elizabeths. Highly suggest going at night, which is when I saw someone who looked suspiciously like Sauerkraut launching at the Woods Hole ramp. The gentleman in question wouldn't let me look in his cooler to see whether he had pogies or eels in there, but perhaps it was a plug bag filled with wooden goodies that he had aboard!

Was he wearing a hospital issued mask and rubber gloves?

Dave Peros 07-13-2010 03:20 PM

Actually, he was wearing what looked like hospital issue scrubs, but no gloves. Then again, he did look like he was trying to get in a little fishing before his next surgical procedure.

Did I Put A Curse On . . .

by having a dedicated flyrodder (my preference) and eel-slinger (out of necessity) post on a plug thread?:biglaugh:
Hope I didn't offend anyone, but I sure hope somebody is catching some nice fish on wood after all the great work I have seen members exhibit over the years.
Please give me some hope that wood is still good . . . and can catch even with all the pogy chum in the water!

Way to go, George. Always great to see a dedicated shore angler come through, especially on his own wood!
