I was hoping to be in for this but I got friends coming to Eastham next weekend. I have always wanted to do this at the Nauset cut in Eastham. But I will probably be able to secure some bluefish Saturday morning if someone wants them let me know

anyone know how far the outlet for waquoit is from south cape beach? is overnight parking cool for scb. the other option seems to be trunk river. anyone have a usefull opinion either way? winds look light for the weekend

bataan death march...i fished scb week ago saturday night...no joy, beach was crowded...

The classic area to do this is S Cape Beach. It is large and there is plenty of room to fish. The Waquoit entrance is probably 1/2-3/4 mile down but it empties through very long jetties so you would not be fishing any outflow and I doubt it is worth the full walk to shark fish. I do not know what the parking situation is but I assume it is open at night (whether the Town lot or State lot I don't know).
Trunk river is, by comparison, a much smaller scale place. It is open at night, but the outflow is tiny (think 2-3 feet across and a few inches deep). Probably sharks prowl both places but I suspect your chances for a fish are better at S Cape. I have never done it so I am not sure. |
is it crazy to try and do poppy? the place has very limited parking. out of the other 2 choices scb sounds like a better choice. who's really coming. do we have few enough guys to sneak into poppy

I'm in. I just need to figure out if I have the right gear for it.
|
Going to try to make it. If I can, should I bring the kayak to drop some baits out?
|
bring the yak rick. it only increases our chances. we need some fresh dead eels and some other misc fresh baits - if anyone is fishing friday and gets any pogies, macks, blues. put them on ice

I'm in

I'm hoping to make it- getting over a bug & injury, have to see how I'm doing Friday. |
Been absent here. I was going to say Craigville or Dowses as I know guys that do it there But they are locked up after 9 and not sure if they would make a stink if U parked along road. Oregon in Cotuit is good too. Parking for at least 10 cars and along road probably too. I am still going to try to attend but not sure yet

Oregon Bch is so shallow that at high water you
can wade out 75 yds. With a dropping tide Sat. Nite you would be walking your bait out about a 1/4 mile. At Trunk you can chum in the outflow and have it carried out for you also lots of parking. |
As a matter of fact if you don't like
Trunk how about Menauhunt outlet from Great Pond. Lots of good parking and easy to get to from Rt 28 via Teaticket and Maravista Rd. |
