Also had a night in Quicks about 6-7 years ago that was all 15+lb Bluefish piled up on the ledge for a solid 2 hours.

Couldn't get chunks in the water fast enough, eventually gave up after being so tired you couldn't lift a rod.

East end blitzes in the early 90's :hihi:

This weekend last year we had fished bass all nite in "Truro." Took a quick ride over to Corn Hill mid morning. The beach was littered with all sorts of bait carnage....heads...tails....full bodies. No sign of surface activity. First cast with a popper and it was inhaled the second it hit the water. There were schools of alligator blues chasing peanuts up and down the beach. At one point in the tide we had bait clinging to our wader and blues crashing around us. Took what had to be a 20lber on a 3 oz pink surface tension. We had been into fish around 15 lbs for an hour or two, I'll never forget my brothers face when he saw the fish I hauled onto the beach. It was a freakin' slob. :humpty:

I saw Larry's trophy monster Blue in Cutty--WOW, fat like a basketball. My biggest was a 19.5 pounder I caught using a 3 oz pencil on Island Beach State Park last spring. I just stood there on the beach staring at it in disbelief. Some of my friends thought I was crazy so we went back the following day and I got a 19.0 on the first cast of the morning. The guy next to me got an 18.5 pounder and it was his first day surf fishing ever.

Hey Larry,
Thanks for the plug, you and Don are great guys, we'll have to hook up sometime in the future.

Kind of a milestone for me...I always wanted a 15 pounder on my own wood! Nice when you set a goal and you reach it....time to work on the 40, 50 and 60 pound bass!:laugha:

So what is your biggest bluefish?

I forget the excat year but it was in the early 90's and it was definitely the Friday , Sat , Sunday after Thanksgiving , myself , my friend Chris from New Jersey and about 50 other people along east beach caught huge blues. We weighed a few we had cleaned and brought home and after gutting they were still 22 to 23 pounds.

Never saw them that big before or since but we caught them fairly regularly that whole weekend.

That's how it was for me back in '86 even later though.Dec.1st the day before I went in the USAF.One of my fondest memories. The 'ol Shimano Speedmaster spinner's drag screaming and the 9ft Ugly Stik bent right at the grip.

Slips'son 09-29-2006 08:50 PM

i caught one that was 8 pounds at Race Point down the Cape

It came in first place in the MSBA tournament in the junior land division

I managed to get it away from the seal that was chasing it, but I was able to get it away from him
