Best wishes for a complete recovery.. T&P sent .
|
prayers sent to steve and his family. it might be a good idea for steve's family members to be tested for clotting disorders, too, as a lot of times they're hereditary.
|
Get well soon
Get well soon Steve - you've got loads of people rooting for you. We can all rig some sluggos for you if that's what it takes. G

An axiom of medicine is..."the nicest people get the worst diseases". So unfair. Heal fast, Steve.
|
Steve is still in the ICU, he told me yesterday they are leaning towrds something being wrong with his blood causing it to clot for some reason, tests continue..I am going to visit with him today, I will pass along all your thoughts, Hopefully they get some type of answer soon, its a dicey situation and seemed to come on so fast.
And yes Nebe, I mentioned the glue thing to him...At this point they will look at just about anything,Thanks |
Thanks for the update and keep us posted Bill.
|
Hope he gets better. He's a great guy and he opened my eyes to a whole new class of baits. Blood clotting problem? maybe its all that sluggo glue. Seriously, thay is harsh stuff. I probobly should be more careful around it too. Especially with the giant rubber eel multiple hook rigs I'm now making, modeled after Steve's slug-go rig, but w/ 3-5 hooks.
|
Bill please give Steve our best as we will say a prayer for his speedy recovery.

Just got back from a visit with Steve, he is in much better spirits today and they are moving him out of the ICU and into a normal room...They installed permanent metal type tubes in the veins of his leg to keep them open...They also said he has a blood disorder that keeps his blood clotting...it is genetic, he will be on blood thinners for a long time if not forever and has to be carefull of cuts etc...other than that he thanks everyone for there prayers! and hopefully he will go home in a few more days..
|
oh man this is terrible..metal tubes and saltwater do not mix.
I bet he's hot on one of the nurses there.Thats why he keeps going back.. Seriously Get well sooon Steve.. |
this is good news .
Im pretty sure stents are the mesh tubes they installed . they work good I have had 3 in my right coronary artery for 10 years with out blockage |
Great news! Thanks for the update
|

more power to ya ! |
wow just saw this post
Steve is a friend get well soon friend. we r all getting old !:realmad: |
Wow, scary stuff. I used to fish with Steve when we were young surf pups so he is too young for this.
As bizarre as this sounds, leeches have proven valuable in restoring blood flow. Although I sound like Theodoric, Barber of York, I am serious. Hope to see you in the shop and in the surf soon Steve. |
That is goooood news, indeed!!
Glad to hear that he is improved and on his way home. Answered prayers, for sure................................. Get strong Steve, and the family is very glad to hear that you're out of the icu, and yer way to a speedy recovery. God's speed!! |
