Poppy is doable, but it will require carpooling. Easy to meet at the nearby supermarket and load into cars from there. There are six spots at poppy- If we're there at a reasonable time it should be easy to nab them. But a fallback plan would be required, of course. And if people aren't going to be in it for the long haul (IE leaving before sunrise) it's definitely not the best place to be- I'd go SCB or Cotuit.

I'm hoping to make it- getting over a bug & injury, have to see how I'm doing Friday.

Been absent here. I was going to say Craigville or Dowses as I know guys that do it there But they are locked up after 9 and not sure if they would make a stink if U parked along road. Oregon in Cotuit is good too. Parking for at least 10 cars and along road probably too. I am still going to try to attend but not sure yet

Better decide quick or else we have to find something else for chum.

Oregon Bch is so shallow that at high water you
can wade out 75 yds. With a dropping tide Sat.
Nite you would be walking your bait out about a
1/4 mile. At Trunk you can chum in the outflow and
have it carried out for you also lots of parking.

As a matter of fact if you don't like
Trunk how about Menauhunt outlet
from Great Pond. Lots of good parking
and easy to get to from Rt 28 via
Teaticket and Maravista Rd.

in the interest of making a decision lets try south cape beach. cotuit will be the backup if scb is all weeded up. i got the fish at scb last weekend.

planning on getting down there at 7:30. lets hope for an improving forcast.

Gonna decide Saturday afternoon. 2.5 hour drive is a bit much for me to get chased off a beach due to lightning :fury:

The state lot or mashpee lot? I assume you are planning on the state lot, but people need to realize there are two side-side access points, but they use different access roads.

there is a large paved lot off great oak rd that is right on the beach. i do not know if it is the state lot or the mashpee lot. right now the forcast is calling for 20% chance of thunderstorms and light winds out of the north.

sounds like a dozen guys are in. line of showers coming through conn now but should be gone by the time we get down there. see everyone down there

Sorry I couldnt make it, was sharked out after a few huge blue dogs while tuna fishing Sat. Hope you guys did well and can't wait for the pics.

sucked. fished in the rain/wind for a while but couldnt hold bottom with all the mung. some of the boys went to duxbury after, dont know how they did. today went considerably better :hihi:

I was just about to leave from Osterville and head over around 8:30 or so and I saw the radar and said I think I will stay in tonite. It sure did pour cats and dogs.

Fish for a few hours and caught 4 small sand tiger!

Really wanted to go, but the almost two hour drive and the pouring rain at my house and weather forecast, I stayed in and wrapped a new rod instead, and drank a few breckinridge vanilla porters.

Will make the run eventually or hit a place in RI closer to home.
