Paul depends on what type of mahogany. Is it real hard ( Honduran or fiberie( African)? Latter is cake to turn..
If its Honduran, I would suggest you cut the blank on eight sides to.get the roughing started easier. Definitely need a sharp gouge. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

I have a bunch I got from Stripermaniac. I trim them into.an octagon . Use a v jig to cut on bandsaw. Yeh Tommy , no weight needed. |
