Donald Trump’s idea of showing strength towards Vladimir Putin was to shower him with compliments and kiss the ring. He’s always been weak.

Obama "Made Russia Great Again" with his weakness... Feb 2018 UK Independent Russia, Assad’s ally, offered to remove the regime’s chemical weapons stockpile to prevent such outrages happening again. Fatefully, Obama agreed. In effect, he outsourced the war to Moscow. Obama’s disregard for his own “red line” was interpreted in Moscow, Tehran, Damascus and other Arab capitals as confirming a fundamental shift – evidence that a chastened, post-Iraq America was retreating from its global policeman role. Obama’s hesitation gave Vladimir Putin, Russia’s leader, an opening. It fitted his core agenda: to rebuild Moscow’s influence in the Middle East and make Russia great again by restoring Soviet-era global reach. And now frail, confused brandon can't muster his pre-election bluster... today Biden’s Putin Appeasement Has Been Years in the Making By DAVID HARSANYI As VP, he mocked Russia hawks, treated Putin as a partner, and helped Russia join the WTO. Then came his presidency. NBC- President Joe Biden announced Tuesday that a set of sanctions will be imposed on Russia for recognizing the so-called Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, whose territory is internationally recognized as part of Ukraine. Biden stopped short of imposing the severest sanctions, which he promised would be imposed were Russia to invade Ukraine. Russia remains unimpressed with U.S. security proposals. If the objective of these measures is to push Russia into withdrawing its military presence near the Ukrainian border, the strategy is obviously failing. It was a moment full of dire portents. weak...weak...weak... |

You’ve got to love that in the middle of Republicans trying to rewrite Trump’s Putin loving history, he gives an interview where he just gushes like a fanboy about how awesome his friend in Moscow is.

Compare right-wing complacency about Putin’s invasion of Ukraine with their hysteria about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada ordering the arrests of anti-vaccine mandate protesters who were blocking major thoroughfares. Carlson claims that “Canada canceled democracy,” while ignoring the actual, existential threat to democracy in Ukraine.

What scares Putin most is Ukraine succeeding in the fight against corruption and becoming an example of a successful former Soviet bloc member that is a democracy.
Ukraine is a battlefield of democracy against autocracy. The West either sides with Ukraine taking real, meaningful, effective actions now, or will eventually lose the rules-based order and safety for generations to come. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

After Ingraham mentions that Russian forces are reportedly engaged in an amphibious attack, Trump says, "you told me about the amphibious attack by Americans. You shouldn't be saying that ... they should do that secretly."
"No. That was the Russians," Ingraham corrects him. "You shouldn't be saying that, because you and everybody else shouldn't know about," Trump continued. "They should do that secretly, not be doing that through the great Laura Ingraham." "No, those are the Russians," Ingraham replied. "Oh, I thought you said that we were sending people in," Trump said. "That'll be next." So who is dumber - Trump or the people who want him re-elected? |

When Gallup did the poll in 2020, Trump had the highest percentage ever, of people saying they were better off. If that poll were held today, asking people if they're better off now after 13 months of Biden, what % would say yes? 100% of violent criminals would say yes, other than that, I'm not sure. Not every flop has been Biden's fault, as covid wasn't Trumps fault and the subprime mortgage crisis wasn't Bush's fault. But fair or not, the president generally is held responsible for what happens on his watch. It's been a horrible, disastrous 13 months for Biden. There's no arguing that. |
