I don't know how you guys do it. 30 is a ton of plugs. Can't wait to see all the pictures once you're all done.

Tobias,
Just thinking - since bigrock dropped out - are we still building 31? Is someone replacing him or will we just do 30?

I can't believe I said "just" 30! :bo:

my lathe broke and I don't know when I am going to be able to get it fixed.

I have everything ready, materials purchased, but I broke something last night.

I am trying to figure it out so I will keep you posted.

Not bowing out yet, just not sure what is going to happen.

Slipknot 02-07-2007 03:51 PM

zacs, you're welcome to spin them at my place if you want, or maybe someone closer will offer also

zacs 02-08-2007 09:08 AM

Thanks Slip. I will work on the lathe tonight and see if I can get it spinning.

Maybe we should have a roll call to see who's still in.
Mine are all built but not all painted yet. If there are going to be 8 or 9 extra's I'd like to make em different colors. Maybe even trade some at Plugfest.

justplugit 02-10-2007 11:06 PM

I'm still in if it kills me. :hihi:

I'm still in. I need to get over this head cold so I can paint them, but they'll be done soon. Then I have to find non-frozen water to swim them in:poke:.

Lower 02-12-2007 09:52 AM

I'm crankin away. Sealed and ready for primer. The last leg is always the longest.

J_T_R 02-12-2007 02:44 PM

I feel like I'm turning into sawdust...

lessons learned..

1) when doing this many plugs.. pick something simple

2) buy a stinkin duplicator

3) see number 1

Extras... who do you think I am? :musc: :musc:

At least when I finish they will probably look like crap..:fishslap:

Rockfish9 02-14-2007 09:19 AM

TB,

Although I've never done swaps, I have done large lots for charity and raffles... I find that once set up, lots of 5 make the time pass better, when the first lot is finished being turned, I then drill it and soak it, then procede to the next lot, so on and so forth, that way, you give yourself a break, eventualy youll have some at each stage of work so it doesnt start feeling like a job, some will be being turned while others are being painted, or finished, that way, it still keeps it in hobby mode....

I make extras because I always...

Screw one up drilling the through hole
Screw one up turning it
Screw one up making the Eye Sockets and Hook holes
Screw one up Painting it....(that one becomes Blurple)
and Screw one (or 2) up when I'm epoxying them.

Hence....Make Extras.

Last year I ended up going back in and spinning up another one everytime one of the above happened.

crash 02-14-2007 09:27 AM

Still working away, slower than I wanted, but making progress.
