I preaty sure she dosnt need the money. Her family owns the abashawn hardwear chain. Also her father gave him the money to start the show.

I think he is the Steve Martin of fishing shows, after 5 min you want to puke but I have to admit, I have watched a few of his shows and one that I did see, was the one he did with the Space Man, Bill Lee was soo funny, I could watch that show every week.

I don't know if this is true or not but I was told that his Mother In law owns Aubuchon Hardware which sponsors the show. I have always thought that there had to be some credibility to that story, otherwise there is no way I could think of for the show to last this long.
If that is not true then I would have to question what makes the people tick who keep him on the air. I went back through the posts and saw yj1990's post and I guess he confirms at least in my mind anyway the family connection to the show. |

That is true... now let's not give this poor excuse of a fisherman anymore attention

He was a fisherman?????:smash::smash:
I thought he was a D list gameshow host resurrected from Gong Show reruns. :biglaugh: (Sorry Gene Barry) |
Why don't all you idiots get your own show? Dogging a guy for having fun catching small fish is just telling me that some are very jealous. Just send your letter to the network on how you are a REAL fisherman that is 100% SERIOUS 100% of the time and only catch BIG fish. It's a no brainer.

Come on guys. I was waiting:):lurk:

I am not a huge fan of the show but people are. As long as he has an audience he will get paid to fish! He lives a dream many of us have how he got there or how he does it works for a large enough fan base that he remains on the air oh well good for him. Not everyone can be Larry dahlberg.

I believe after sports, it's the #1 show on NESN. The last figure I heard was 6 mil a season.
One has to consider that other fishing hosts have zero personality. He has a personality, and it fits, because it's an obnoxious one. Who is Charlie Moore? He's the personification of every loud mouth, sports-obsessed, ex-high school jock, Massolio, that bumps into you in a sports bar in Scituate and puts on a bad-ass act over the non-event. There are plenty of middle aged fat Irish bastids that identify with him, they'll be tailgating you on the Mass Pike and 128 Monday morning and spouting off by the water cooler about how great the Sawx were when they were mostly white guys. |

I remember when Pumpsie Green played for the Sawx.

I always thought the (self proclaimed) internet hero on the Charlie Moore joint would be a great episode. Never quite sure how it might have ended though, but figured it would be highly entertaining none the less.

Guys a tool.

I mean, after all the infomercials and sports TALK shows, what's left? Besides Charlie Moron's show, what other fishing shows are there, or "outdoors" shows for that matter? It makes me wonder that maybe the Mad Fish powers may have forced NESN to get rid of any competition to corner the market. I get to see more fishing action on CSN abd ESPN than NESN. Maybe NESN is hooking their wagon to the Charlie Moore popularity train and hope to ride it to the top. Top of what, I couldn't say, nor would I want to waste my time even trying. My favorite Mooron episode was when he "tried" cod fishing, and while holding the rod UPSIDE DOWN, lost the rod and reel because he was holding it like he was holding a limp willy. Give me Larry Dahlberg (or even Larry Szonka for that matter) and I'll enjoy some real fishing. |
The way I see it allot better shows are off the air.
I don't know what keeps this show going other than the possibility that the hate mail to the TV station may be the thing that keeps him alive. They think that if folks are talking about him it sells products. Notice when he fishes alone he catches things that our kids don't want to keep. He has no personal fishing skills! He is a charter boat Captains worst customer. I know real deals that would refuse to take him on a charter.The other thing is from the beginning of his early shows to this day HE STILL DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO HOLD A FISHING ROD AND HAS NO CLUE ON HOW TO FIGHT A FISH. HE IS NO JOSE WEJEBE / ROLAND MARTIN!!!! He is the classic person who tells you about the one that got away!!! God lord just kill me!:smash: |
