very nice Paul. A wonder of photography. I just purchased a Olympus Stylus, hopefully in a few years i can take shots like you do

ProfessorM 06-06-2009 07:07 PM

Thanks Bill. If the pictures come out good it is the camera that gets the credit, and it isn't a very fancy camera. I carry it with me all the time for the last few years as you never know what you are going to see as fishing puts you in some very beautiful settings. I really like the light very early in the morning. I have to take it with me more on the canal as I usually don't as I am afraid I am going to break it.

Few more.

The last picture is of a tree. This tree was taken from one of the mansions in Newport. As I took my annual stroll of the grounds in awe of the giant mature specimens of trees they have I took this coffee cup size tree from under its mother. I dug up gently and put in coffee cup. I then planted in one of my nursery beds I keep for small stuff for a few years and eventually put it where I wanted it. I am pretty sure it is some kind of special beech and will reach maturity hopefully, long after I am gone. It is a beautiful tree and probably not one you would find very often.

All very nice! Ahh,who would have thought I would be getting my botanical fix on S-B!

my latest favorites from the woods & hills....

ProfessorM 06-16-2009 08:40 AM

beautiful pics. I used to spend many hours up in the Newfound Lake area of NH. I have not been back in that area in a decade or more. I need to get up to the woods sometime to take in that tranquility first hand.

Raven 06-16-2009 09:29 AM

yeah especially if there's loons at night ;o)

not a great pic but the content is worth it! And just for the record the "pole" in the picture is really my truck antenna,,,,,I was NOT standing in the middle of the street with a fishing pole watching the bear! LOL

I'd be more concerned with that huge arrow someone drew on the side of your house than the weed!

LOL...neither....I am waiting for it to find the striper remains buried in my compost pile  that was NOT agood idea in hindsight....

I was looking over my shoulder a LOT this morning while I was doing yard work! The pic was taken just down the street from me. Yesterday the bear made the news when he showed up at a nearby school....

They must take after Grandma because they don't look like Don Imus.

ProfessorM 07-21-2010 07:35 PM

Great shots and smiles Dave. I hope you have been enjoying the summer down there, bet it has been even hotter than up here. If you get up here to your special spots this fall give me a call. P.
