"Women's Rights". If you want one example to illustrate everything that's wrong with liberalism, it's the use of that term. Why can't you just say "abortion"? That's the only specific right that we really differ on, yet you need to use a sanitizing euphemism. I am a huge believer in women's rights - right to vote, to dress how they want, to choose whether to work or stay home with the kids, I am in favor of all kinds of rights. But you feel the need to frame this issue in such a way, as to make it seem like those who disagree with you on abortion, are somehow against "women's rights" in some macro kind of view. It's nonsense. I can tell you what I believe without having to disguise my beliefs, to make it sound like I believe something other than what I actually believe. What does it say about your opinion, that you need to disguise it as something else? I'm not afraid of any of the things on that list. From what I saw, the liberals were big on promises, short on plans to pay for it. I don't know if the promises of free stuff, especially coming from a new York socialist who is so dumb that she doesn't know what "unemployment" is (she thinks unemployment I slow because people work two jobs), are going to win people over in middle America. But we'll soon see. That young socialist from new York city is so stupid, she makes that Miss South Carolina beauty contestant from a few years ago, sound like Margaret Thatcher. |

A single mother in North Carolina making less than $40,000 will save will save about $650. a month A married homeowning couple with no children in Rhode Island making $150,000 save more than $13,000. 1083 a month A business-owning couple with three children in California is set to save more than save $1,300 next year. wow 108 a month If the taxes went this way see above we would be in agreement ... this would be great for America the single mother and middle class family would have real disposable money they could spend save or re invest and the business guy falls into a movie and mini golf and should be happy he gets a tax break :tm: |

of course i know people working two jobs. that’s not the point. the point is, if i have a job, and i take a second job, THAT DOESN’T LOWER UNEMPLOYMENT. whether i have one job or ten jobs, the unemployment rate stays the same. this ditzy socialist from Queens, didn’t know that. she thought low unemployment WAS BAD, because she thought it was achieved by people working multiple jobs. i’m sorry, but someday you’re going to have to settle with the fact that there are a few morons on the left. the EU concessions that you dismissed as nothing? well. i still don’t claim to understand it, but the stick market reacted favorably to it. so the people living where the tires meet the road, thought it was beneficial. can your psyche accept that? Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
Jim,
I've worked with guys like Trump Identify a problem Blow it up as much as possible and tell everyone you have a problem. Piss everyone off The problem gets solved, they always do Run around telling everyone they solved the problem and they should be praised Other guys would just solve the problem in cooperation with the others involved. Then I solicit pricing from the subs or suppliers involved and they say who's the PM, if it's him I don't want anything to do with it or I'm adding. Not the way to manage effectively longterm, but it is certainly Baby Donny Bonespurs method |

I don't think Trump is singularly responsible for low black unemoployment. But he sure seemed happy about it, and your side clearly saw it as no reason to celebrate. And for god damn sure, that DOES say something about each side's views on race. |

True. Many politicians, especially presidents, like to take credit for the sunrise. Trump isn't unique in that regard. |

European Commission - Statement Joint U.S.-EU Statement following President Juncker's visit to the White House Washington, 25 July 2018 We met today in Washington, D.C. to launch a new phase in the relationship between the United States and the European Union – a phase of close friendship, of strong trade relations in which both of us will win, of working better together for global security and prosperity, and of fighting jointly against terrorism. The United States and the European Union together count more than 830 million citizens and more than 50 percent of global GDP. If we team up, we can make our planet a better, more secure, and more prosperous place. Already today, the United States and the European Union have a $1 trillion bilateral trade relationship – the largest economic relationship in the world. We want to further strengthen this trade relationship to the benefit of all American and European citizens. This is why we agreed today, first of all, to work together toward zero tariffs, zero non-tariff barriers, and zero subsidies on non-auto industrial goods. We will also work to reduce barriers and increase trade in services, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical products, as well as soybeans. EU already imports the majority of soybeans from the us This will open markets for farmers and workers, increase investment, and lead to greater prosperity in both the United States and the European Union. It will also make trade fairer and more reciprocal. Secondly, we agreed today to strengthen our strategic cooperation with respect to energy. The European Union wants to import more liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States to diversify its energy supply. Thirdly, we agreed today to launch a close dialogue on standards in order to ease trade, reduce bureaucratic obstacles, and slash costs. Fourthly, we agreed today to join forces to protect American and European companies better from unfair global trade practices. We will therefore work closely together with like-minded partners to reform the WTO and to address unfair trading practices, including intellectual property theft, forced technology transfer, industrial subsidies, distortions created by state owned enterprises, and overcapacity. We decided to set up immediately an Executive Working Group of our closest advisors to carry this joint agenda forward. In addition, it will identify short-term measures to facilitate commercial exchanges and assess existing tariff measures. While we are working on this, we will not go against the spirit of this agreement, unless either party terminates the negotiations. We also want to resolve the steel and aluminum tariff issues and retaliatory tariffs. Soybean prices plunge to a 10-year low i understand seeing this from a making money point of view how ever if the US economy is booming under the current system ? what Are his Trade tariffs expected to do ?? endless Growth is not sustainable ... above is the EU press release nothing no details just more negotiation than Trump claims it as a win Trump is doing what he did in his Business He is playing with other peoples money he is exposed to no risk |
Quote:
Negotiating, meaningfully, by all sides toward zero tariffs can get there if the alternative is tariff war. The U.S. complacently allowing others to impose tariffs without retaliating gives us no leverage. A first, small step, showing good faith I presume, the EU will import MORE soybeans from us and create stations to import natural gas from us (not a good thing for Russia). Everything else mentioned can now be seriously discussed and agreed to. I didn't see any mechanism being developed to resolve these issue before, except to bitch and whine about it. |

But thats not what you said.. you said they made concessions to Trump please don't move the goal posts .. the market is happy because the agreed to keep talking and it didnt get worse .... not because of any details... or things got better ... this is the part you avoid like the plague ... nothing has fundamentally has changed.. if it has were are the agreements with numbers and amounts and time lines for implementation if i had that info I could have a different view but I do not ... Trump took an old dull penny and gave you a shiny penny ..... and some how you think its not the same penny .... thats the genius of Trump .... |

Just because you think he is the second coming, I thought you were a christian. Remember, Thou shalt have no other gods before Me I'm not making up anything, don't think his effect on the markets from tweets about the Federal reserve rates, tariffs, etc is inconsequential and without costs to business. Turmoil is not good for planning. Here, read this radical news instead of State news https://www.reuters.com/trump-effect/business-economy or the economist or wall street journal |

There was no way to correct various countries imposing tariffs on certain US goods, nor the misappropriation of American intellectual property without retaliating or threatening to do so. Trump has laid down the gauntlet, but also opened the doors to negotiations that can lead to the removal of American tariffs--the old carrot and stick thing. There are, at least, movements now in that direction. Even merely signaling that should have a positive effect on the market. And accomplishing zero tariffs should stimulate it even more. |

Meanwhile you give a perfect example of the #^^^^^^^& left and their shortsighted ways. If you concluded that Jim considered Trump the second coming then you are just plain ignorant. Thanks for displaying your confusion and arrogance for all to see. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
