I like ebay for the beaters! Those two big white masterlures, got for $2.45! I bought em so I could copy them, if they worked back then, they will work now. Some stuff on ebay gets rediculus. I love to make my own plugs, and ebay is great for finding old junkers to copy :-}

Mac, I see that Christian bunker plug hanging there:eek:  CapeSam, I like yer rod holder, that's a great idea. I like the custom stuff, even more when you turn it into a beater, there is no shortage of talent or class when it comes to this group of guys....my .02 cents :) johnny |
VB, nice "boat pics"
Slip, leave it to a cabinet maker, to have the nicest plug rack system, I've seen.... interesting use of towel bars :D Sheetrock! in a man cave.... NICE! |

If you can also grab the boxes.. Before you ship them up to me please add a few of your special striped bass lures. What I did today. Slip made me the blank, I drilled, sanded, selaed and primed. Today I painted it in a classic pattern. I wish it was June...........
|
Oh yeah, I hand cut the lip as well from a Fixter pattern I copied at Bassmaster's.:)

Indulge me, I'm on a retro/classic sort of old school paint kick. Two Atoms and a Conrad knock off.
|
I hand cut all the lips and obviously the Conrad lip needs some tweaking.:smash:
|
oh man , that atom that looks like a partly cloudy day.......perfect.
|
Thanks Christian and congrats on your going legal on the street. Now you need to find the right buggy to cruise the surfline at night and scoop chicks in the day!
Salty, I think your right!:D |
flap, an chance of a better photo of those "holy needles" its hard to tell what color they really are.. i'm painting some up soon and would love some inspiration:D
|
Let me try it tomorrow when the sun is out so I can take the shots outside and get the true colors. Also I got a plug from Fishingfreak that has a wild paint job ( it looks like the tank on a custom chopped Harley) but I need to take that pic outdoors as well.;)
|
And your not getting those back either!:laughs:

Now what you meant to say was "one of the finished plugs was belmmished so I sent it to the too tall Capeboy" - that's what you meant to say |

Fishingfreak, as requested. I made this Flaptail in 90' or so. Stan Daggett of West Dennis was in Riverview Bait and Tackle as I was test swimming it in Lee's large shiner tank and was the only one who knew what I had made. Right then and there Stan invited me over to his house to see all his old plugs. Awesome stuff! He gave me some needles he made to be fished with Eelskins over them. ( I will post pic).
Eben, I haven't forgot your request. The Flaptail, made after inspiration of reading Ollie Rodman's the "Saltwater Fishermans Favorite Four" Shaped, sanded, sealed, primed and painted by hand from a square block of red cedar. |
