43" pencil fish, got it at dusk tonight on the twin to the pencil I posted with the mangled hooks. Good thing I made 2... If it's 30 it will be my first 30 on a pencil. :jump:

ProfessorM 06-08-2008 08:02 AM

beauty.

George you did what you like and that is what is important. I personally didn't work hard for the fish, other than loose sleep. I am lucky to have several friends, mostly retired, i have got to know over the years that keep me in the loop. They called me on Sunday night and then on Tuesday and told of the issuing fishing, although i do mark those set of tides on the chart months in advance. I would have to give all credit to them and i hope I can reciprocate the info this year at some time fishing my favorite areas.

Gloves for marathon braid casting,,, use the other one for thumbing braid on my conventional after I noticed the groove in my thumb.. Surprised you didn't mention the lipper .. Boga made my 20# fish a 16#...

Diggin Jiggin 06-10-2008 04:35 PM

It's' funny how much you can be off sometimes. The past 2 years my boga's let me put back a bunch of good 27-29# fish that were shy of the 30 I wanted for the striper cup.

ProfessorM 06-10-2008 07:18 PM

Nice plug Tony. I was using something very similar, in pink too. Got to luv the hawg hunter type pencil for the canal. A proven slayer. Does it sink or just barley float?

44" on my pencil this morning. Probably should have weighed it in for team S-B but couldn't bring myself to kill it considering all the fish we had last year were bigger than it.

t.orlando 06-11-2008 06:34 AM

Barely floats at an angle Paul. Nice fish Dan

Probably because of the 7/0 you rammed through its eyesocket. :tooth:.

SAUERKRAUT 06-11-2008 08:32 PM

$25, and no discount at the Plugfest.

Anyhow, the plug is paying itself back. That's more than I can say for the rejects I scrounge out of the Numbskull's and Flaptail's garbage and refurbish.

The plug: BF 2.3 Prey surfster lip.
The fish: 20-12, 39 1/2", ALS tagged No. 158844, and released.

Bonds to all who love the gene pool enough to release them.

BigFish 06-11-2008 09:11 PM

Great pic Sauerkraut! Nice fish! I love that plug.....its a killer! Thanks for posting the pic and congratulations!:kewl:

Slingah 06-11-2008 11:07 PM

that picture is the seeds...

numbskull 06-12-2008 06:30 AM

Next time use the reel. Diving in and grabbing him with your teeth is unsporting.

since the celtics are whackkin' it about now, thought I'd catch up on putting up some pics of plugs of mine that have done some damage on fish for me this spring so far.

on the right is from top, a pikie I made a bunch of, a RM Smith danny that the bass wouldn't leave alone, then a spook modeled after a jigman spookk in that olivy color, a pearl white pikie I made, then a junior from Mike Thomas at M&D's

the right side has 3 plugs, a killer mr. pogie that swims amazing, then an awesome rockfish9 dater that catches even in the daytime, then a howdy I made.

Slipknot 06-12-2008 08:56 PM

2 more pics

the mac pencil worked well in the canal

the little swimmer is a chumbucket and the fish trashed it hitting it so hard, the belly swivel broke so I had to re-wire it before next time when it continued to attract the bass.

Backbeach Jake 06-12-2008 09:23 PM

Oooo, Slip! The jointed Nike!! Heck, they're all awesome..

johnny ducketts 06-13-2008 09:06 AM

only one fish away from the mini slam on my blue head spook.. Caught my first bluefish this season last night. It was awesome, the thing jumped like a tarpon and nailed it. What a cool sight and great feeling. All i need is a tuna on it and I'll have keeper bass, bluefish, and tuna all on the same plug. Anyone wanna take me tuna fishing?

mrstriper 06-13-2008 11:39 AM

hmmmmm...sauerkraut with a white plug...that is what I read in his article....nice job....

PNG 06-13-2008 12:02 PM

Nice Bruce, did Jiggy authorize that spook? Looking good

Photo contest for a free plug?

Slingah put me on to a photo contest whereby I might win a free plug; but he suggested I may already have enuf.

Is it possible to have enuf plugs? What makes ya think I have enuf plugs?

Nope, they'll actually hit them pretty well :tooth: How about a Redeye (I think you call them Rock Bass up that way) on a pencil:

Or a Mud-marlin on a topwater prop bait

The fact that you'd trade them all in a second for another eel trap and lifetime supply of horseshoe crabs, maybe? :bl:
