:bc: sorry Nib ,,,didn't mean to chew your ears off..bummer u won't be joining us , but you can critique us... :scream: Tobias is making the Floyd Romans,,, The reason there aren't any VB has them all .... Thanks Knumbskull,,, I think your right Slip just wondering if the thing will dart set up like one .. probably not..I hate casting red cedar,, nothing worse than having a great swimming plug that won't reach anything ..

Slipknot 11-21-2005 06:48 PM

bombers work great and usually catch right in the wash anyway. something to think about. just test them both to see.

I am tetering on whether to do howdys or hawg hunter pencils.

NIB 11-21-2005 09:31 PM

I took a Hawg hunter pencil the small one cast like crap an it was the squid color.hat didin't catch anything.I took it apart an made it 3.5 onces not sure how heavey it was before.I also painted it yellow. Now it cast's like a rocket One of the best casters I have,an catches.

Tagger U know I will have only nice things to say bout my fellow builders work.

ProfessorM 11-22-2005 11:47 AM

Canalman 11-23-2005 02:02 PM

Chris don't feel behind I haven't even used my lathe yet this year :laughs:
I haven't even tested my design yet. I won't be ready to mass produce my plugs until January. :laugha: :wall:

Cool Bruce. I love that lure. The only thing I changed from my original is I put a little less weight so it stays afloat. The one I had sank like a rock. It still cast's a country mile.
Chris I am far, far from done. I am also going to Aruba for 2 weeks in Jan. so I will loose that time so need to get an early start. Besides I will be sweating the final operation big time. I will be suicidal if I wait till the last operation to screw them up. P.

Tagger 11-23-2005 09:18 PM

You have no idea how many plugs i trashed last step .. epoxy .. almost quit cause of it ... I still fear it ..

ProfessorM 11-23-2005 09:24 PM

I will probably always be gun shy. Don't really care that much if I screw up my own but when they are going to others it adds a little extra pressure. I ain't given up though.

I'll weight them to just float. Brad didn't make then all the same and many sank but they catch fish. These will cast and fish great.

Epoxy? Paul, when you get to that part call me, you might want to use something else if it's giving you fits. I'll help you out.

ProfessorM 11-23-2005 10:02 PM

Thanks Bruce.

thefishingfreak 11-25-2005 10:38 PM

i'm gunna make what they call a woodchopper.

Karl F 11-25-2005 10:41 PM

freak

Is a woodchopper anything like a Hatchet MAC? ;)

thefishingfreak 11-25-2005 10:48 PM

something along these lines......

ThrowingTimber 11-28-2005 12:00 PM

epoxying 3 plugs a night on a spinner for 8 hours for 30 plugs... is going to take quite awhile...

The Dad Fisherman 11-28-2005 12:23 PM

Anybody do the Math......23 builders making 23 plugs each.....There's going to be 529 Plugs floating around for this thing

I spun mine this past weekend, have all the holes drilled too.....Tonight I'm going to put the cups in for the mouth. hopefully they will be all sealed after this weekend and ready for some paint

I did learn one thing...its hard to be consistant....They are all roughly the same but there are some small differences.......I guess they are "Unique" :D

makes you appreciate the guys who turn'em out in quantity for sale
