Anytime Gilly :D
I see that growth hormone you've been taking has worked wonders :btu: I caught one 49" bass in my life, and the girth was just about 26" and it weighed 40 pounds exactly. I don't know if it has anything to do with this thread but that's my story. |
It sure has Slip...:musc:
I've grown at least another 2 feet since you last saw me. My casts have really improved too!!! I can almost hit the Christmas Tree Shop from the mainland. Although I'm having a bit of problem finding boots high enough to wade thru my own chit - :rotf3: |

Just a couple of questions..................... Don't fish LOSE weight the longer they are out of the water? Unless you had yer scale on the rocks wit ya, that may account for some of the discrepency. That is, iffin ya used the C&R Formula hours earlier at the rocks and then thru yer catch on a scale much later. Secondly, What kind of scale are you using? Many of the spring loaded hand held scales are less accurate the closer they get to their max. It's kinda like the difference between triple beams and digital. I learned back in the 70's that if you ain't usin' digitals when it comes to "weight", then somebody's getting ripped off ~dude :uhuh: :uhuh:! Doan so much think that it is about ego, bro, as it is about calculating a general formula that provides the quickest way to approximate weight ~within a reasonably acceptable proximity of true weight~ that accounts for variance of girth as it relates to overall length in the real and earnest effort to release a catch in a safe and timely manner. Think about it....................a 25" girth on a 43" feesh!! She was FAT and she was every bit of 30#, me bruddah. Also, I just use the formula because most of us agree that it is fair and "accurate" enough. |
BDawg,
That's a LOT of fish/handling for a guy big into C&R - A spring loaded scale requires a lot less handling and is probably just as accurate as calculating a guesstimated calculated weight. Just meye opinion anyways- :usd:..and down deep, you NO you're a chest beeeter. :devil2: Sidenote: Getting back on track......SUPPORT OUR S.B.COM SPONSORS....whether buying direct OR from a shop sponsor, you can't go wrong. |
Not iffin ya keep her in tha surf, or on the wet weeds right next to it. Try to just touch the lips, with gloves, when possible. What's most important is how well she swims away.
I tell ya this spot of mine is the idealiest, pimpinest, feeshnominalest spot i've seen on the NShore :uhuh:, and she almost always produces for me. the scary part is i've only scratched the surface with what's on her outside. Mostly quiet about me catches, unless of course it is included within the context of a response :bl:. |
:tm:WACKY
WEDNESDAYS!:boots: |
Slightly on the topic, not that this thread is off.
If you want to catch fish: I would suggest going to a knowledgable shop where you can talk to someone about the place or places you like to fish and get a "few" suggestions of plugs to buy. Pay a good price, get good advice. You could also look at a couple of articles, I think there is one by Steve McKenna on the Saltwater Edge site and one by Zeno on his site. Look for the common threads on what works. If you want to collect plugs: Ebay or the other place Good luck fishing |
Fantasy Fishing is much like Fantasy Football but one needs to remember neither is real.
Anyone want to go out for an imaginary pass and catch an imaginary touchdown pass? :bshake: |
