John,

As a new guy to the site and a guy who designed a T Shirt for a group of guys fishing BI this year I can definitely appreciate your efforts. The graphics are first class and I would be honored to put them on a shirt if no one here can agree and you want to see your efforts come to fruition. I would also buy a couple shirts of whatever is decided.

Now as far as the sponsors. I think they should be thanked by everyone for putting in some extra $$ to keep the cost for the members down.

I know not everyone will be happy but if you used the design for a spring shirt and then do another shirt for the fall with the design help from everyone who has other Ideas that could be close to pleasing everyone. If that is even possible.

If your talking $20 a shirt then that should be a drop in the bucket for anyone who is fishing for S-B no matter how they enjoy catching them.

Thanks for the effort and time

We'll address this a bit later...

Thanks....

Would socks be better?

I have pretty much kept out of this thread, not that I post much anymore, but I seem to remember many , many tides ago that some of the regulars (read not just plug turners) wanted some shirts and hats done. In all fairness I like the pictures of the plugs, but there is just too much going on in the shirt.

Now I am not sure who John is dealing with for the shirts, but I am sure there must be other contractors who would do smaller runs of the shirts, maybe even two different styles.

I think a more comical approach would be a striper sitting at a computer surfing the reports section to see where not to hunt for food....

Hi Billy!
Where you been?
I'm in with him, but if we made an ol timer's shirt it would be like you, me, chris, dave, bruce, john, and bill from ri, with weird handles...
Oh yeah, and Patrick, too.
Lata,
Rick

You've got a better chance of striking a permanent peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis than of getting the plug builders and sponsors all on the same page.

Nebe 12-18-2006 11:13 AM

i like it.

MakoMike 12-18-2006 12:04 PM

Whatever you decide, put me down for a couple!

JohnR 12-18-2006 12:05 PM

Just a reminder - not taking shirt orders at this time. I'll look back into this in a month or so but too busy at the moment on some other things...

Thanks!

John

I can't believe I just wasted a half hour of my life reading this. Crikey.

In answer to the original question, no I will not buy one. It's not because I'll only wear blue shirts. It's not because I need a pocket for my cigarettes. It's not because I use mainly eels and not plugs or because I think sponsorship of a t-shirt is wrong or because I wear only plain shirts or because I want something with a flag on it or because I need an XXXXXXXXXXL shirt in order to encompass every interest of every member of the site. It's only because RRC is going to get 4, and I don't know what he's going to do with that many shirts if he doesn't give a couple to me. :hihi:

Honestly John.....Take the logo from the site, slap it on above the typical pocket area of the tee and I bet they would sell like hot cakes. we are fishermen for gosh sakes! we dont need lots of fuss! no need to kill yourself over a design.Put a striper on a shirt and we will buy it! Its the "nascar effect" meaning put a drivers number on anything and the fans will buy it! You have plenty of us just "itching" to buy shirts its not even funny. I think people are getting cranky about t shirts because they hear talk but never see shirts for sale.

Redsoxticket 12-20-2006 08:18 PM

Create a paypal account for a t-shirt and once you get the money to cover the cost then you send to production. It will be like a "reverse layaway".
You can even have a money counter to show progress.

Alot of great ideas, one I don't hear is quality of t-shirt cost vs graphics cost. I would rather have a more well made shirt with less design than an ink laden piece of cheesecloth. I do own a Surfrats.com shirt with sponsors logos on the short sleeve and most fishermen think it looks cool. John, take a break for the holidays and don't sweat it.:thanks:

I agree, a quality shirt, where the artwork won't start flaking off.
With all the time spent on this endevour, I'm sure you'll make it a winner.:claps:
