PRBuzz 10-23-2010 06:19 PM

macojoe 10-23-2010 06:43 PM

I am a crew of 3! Leaving here at 6am will be at the ramp little after 6 30

Last time out they were using channel 78, so why not that??

Great day on the water...although we could not find/see any of the other boats we had our spot! We limited out with all 12 fish bigger than 19". The biggest fish of the day went to OD Mike: 24", 9lbs. Kippy (aka Tony) had the hot had of the day and I think he should be called "Silent but Deadly" as every time we looked over he had a bent pole and just silently would reel them in.

Niko: where the hell is spot #2?

Pic is a sampling of the fish caught.

niko 10-24-2010 06:33 PM

where the hell were you guys buzz? out by the party boat

Clammer 10-24-2010 06:40 PM

I called you guys on the VHF / but ya wouldn,t take to me ><><><:smash:

Hi guys, sorry we couldn't meet up but I stayed closer to home. Didn't like the noise that seemed to be coming from the starboard tranny. Anyway we took a six man limit, and had a great day. Don't get too many flat days like this, this time of year.
My son Derek took our pool winner today
Hope everyone had a good day.

fish4striper 10-24-2010 06:57 PM

Had a great time! Nice seeing other S-Basser's.

Now where near the party boat, check e-mail! Niko: Most of the shot's face spot #2! We ended the day trolling a little of Sow&Pigs and making a few cast into the area below the Cutty lodge....before going back over area #2.......It might have well have been area 51!

We had a party of our own in area #3, there were 5 boats in the area. Here's a little something:

Clammer 10-24-2010 09:17 PM

Had fun with you guys out there today. Did not hammer them like other days but it was a great day. We had 12 keepers and a bunch of smaller fish. The largest was about 7#

That is a nice fish Derek!:uhuh:

Now before you all say I am spot burning with the photo below...I would not worry too much about it. Why? You better be right on this spot or you will not get squat! I was 30' next to them and we watched them bail fish while we picked away at a few small fish.

redlite 10-25-2010 09:58 AM

Truly a great tIme. Thank you Sandman. The boat is INCREDIBLE.
Steve (owner of #^&#^&#^&#^&'s Tackle) taught us all how to restrain ourselves and catch Taug:jump1: Fish4striper's crew showed us how important it is to have a diver down there hookin fish on for you when another boat pulls up and is takin pictures.
Weather was great and we caught fish and some good laughs.
Awesome time.

kippy 10-25-2010 11:16 AM

I would like to thank PRBuzz (Phil) for a great day on the water. It was also nice to meet his son Adam and OD Mike. Great crew and we really put a hurting on the tog. I think my alter ego "Ryan" caught all those fish. He is a stealth ninja when it comes to toggin. We'll have to do it again sometime.

Hey, I gave you guys the super secret spot, see us boat guys share spots :grins:

You guys didn't know BB tog don't like to eat Vineyard crabs? Sorry ,we have to take our bait secret to the grave! :rotf2:

niko 10-25-2010 04:20 PM

a few tog questions - the bigger ones seem to be blowing up through the vent. are they going to survive this or are they automaticly keepers? the smaller ones doesnt seem to happen as much. should i just vent them w/ a needle? is this "the bends" even in 30' of water. i don't really want to keep any more this season but would still like to fish for them a few times but don't like the idea of wasting fish that are released to die anyway. and thanks jeff, good time as usuall bro. in april we'll do one of these for cod and haddock

Paul,

Hope this helps answer your questions about venting? Also included some general info about tog.

Kippy,
It was a good day! Had a lot of fun fishing with the crew! Thanks for all the advice on baiting the crabs and the techniques of setting the hook. If it wasn't for "Ryan" I may never caught a tog....

Thanks again,
Mike

No problem Mike, you certainly got the hang of it pretty quick. Ryan must be a great teacher!

Tony what do you do? Ryan teaches others and catches all the fish!

(for those lost in this discussion it is one of those that what happens on the boat stays on the boat things)

O.D. Mike 10-26-2010 07:51 PM

Phil, Tony got Ryan to the boat.......

Has anyone fished directly under the BB tower? I was looking at it the other day and was thinking about running up to it and dropping a few crabs down there.

good to read, about the bite that is. maybe that means the bite is back on. going tomorrow towards the tower. if it is slow, heading south east of the pigs
