CONGRATS!! I can't wait to get there. I haven't been 200 since probably sophomore year of high school. Hopefully I'll do it by June!

I'm 220.7 this morning.

new jack 03-19-2012 11:13 AM

Thanks guys. Been thinking about maybe picking up the insanity DVDs to get the last 20 lbs off. I need to change up my workout routine.

15 shy of 200 pounds for the group. :uhuh:

Raven 03-20-2012 06:28 PM

interesting fact i read today
to motivate you
it will certainly motivate me

for every pound your over weight
it equals 8 pounds on your joints
i don't get the math
but there ya go

zacs 03-20-2012 07:38 PM

huh??? back to the greenhouse raven! ;)

Raven 03-20-2012 08:55 PM

here's a quote

For every pound of body weight you gain, your knees gain three pounds of added stress; for hips, each pound translates into six times the pressure on the joints.

With every step you take, your moving body puts pressure roughly equal to three times your weight on your hips and knees.

Being only 10 pounds overweight increases the force on the knee by 30-60 pounds with each step.

Overweight women have nearly 4 times the risk of knee OA; for overweight men the risk is five times greater.

If you lose just 1 pound, you reduce by 4 pounds the force your knees must absorb when you walk.

196.5 - 1.5 gain - Pulled back muscle last Sunday but rested it up during the week. Felt good on Saturday and was able to run 3 miles without walking breaks for the first time - felt pretty good reaching that goal. :) Thought I did OK eating wise, I guess I just have to get better.

Stopped using Splenda, read it was invented when trying to develop a pestiside - that can't be good for you. I started using Stevia that is natural sweetener and it tasted pretty good!

Grid updated for the stragglers. :jump1:

NEED PLUGS

We need some plugs from other stragglers.

Patrick said he is going to give me his at the TFCTGFN event this coming Saturday night.

If you are going this is a good time to save on postage and donate your plug.

Check the grid to see if we have received your plug. If you sent one in or paid by Pay Pal and it is not noted please let us know.

Thanks! :)

jredfly 03-30-2012 10:24 PM

FYI - I (a/k/a Captain Cupcake) am bringing the wife's world famous cupcakes for TFCTFN.

A little sabotagie :devil2: :buds:

193 down 3 pounds, not a bad week considering the TFCTFN was last night. The shepherds pie and fish chowder were delicious, what a feast! Everyone brought some great food. :jump1:

jredfly 04-01-2012 01:31 PM

Plugs?

We didn't get any plugs in for the Portly Angler contest at the TFCTFN.

We still need plugs from:

Zacs
Basic Patrick
Slingah
DerekL

It really helps when you guys send them in so we don't have to keep on making requests in the thread and sending PM reminders.

Please pay by PP or send plug to:

John Redmond
PO Box 9183
Warwick, RI 02889

Thanks!!! :)

Congrats! We made it over the 200 pound mark as a group. :)

I think Patrick probably meant 285 not 185, if not I am starting Atkins tomorrow. :biglaugh:

Looks like a few are starting to seperate themselves from the pack.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Time to cowboy up gentlemen! :horse:

KEGGER7676 04-06-2012 07:25 AM

I'm going to weigh in early this week...leaving tonight for a little R&R in Florida.

346.2 pounds this week.

bart 04-07-2012 12:39 AM

Congrats to all of you, big time accomplishments. Keep up the great work. I didn't enter this year because I broke my hand right before xmas and couldn't lift. Hand finally healed and I've been hitting the gym like a beast. Started working out hard/dieting in Feb and I'm down to 238. When I started I was 265. 18 more pounds to go and i'll reach my goal for the summer. When the sun comes out, the guns come out. Train Hard! :musc:

new jack 04-08-2012 07:22 AM

195.5. My weight loss had slowed down so I Had to up the cardio big time this week.

Still at 193 - Tough being good with the kids Easter baskets, chocolate is my weakness. Usually I impose a hefty daddy tax but I am going to try and do things in moderation today. Might have to put in a couple of extra miles running this week. :fury:

The Dad Fisherman 04-09-2012 04:53 AM

Big No Change for me this week...Easter....to much Ham
