Thanks for the info Denis. Wife surprised me today told me to take Friday and Monday off. Because she booked three nights at the willows resort for my birthday, they have on sight docks right on nitigrit pond. Hopefully the weather changes and we can get out the breachway and chase these silly fish around. Worst case scenario zera spooks for bass in the pond

Sure a 7 weight fly rod or ultralight spinner is 'sporting'. Too bad most of the fish die and sink to the depths once these 'sportsmen' release them after their epic 10 minute 'battle'. :hs:

Skunked y'day for the first time in 8 trips. I'd like to blame the N/E wind, but I had my shots...

BatesBCheatin 09-27-2015 07:58 PM

Took a ride to SoCo after getting skunked on CC. Fished and searched and came up empty. Nothing even seen except the bait and cloudy water. First time I couldn't find them since they showed up.

was all over BB today. found small pods in a bunch of spots and decent feeds at 2 spots.

Narr Bay still has tons of Bluefish. Just head South. Some real alligators too.

Found them yesterday AM before today's shnit. Lots of not so picky fish around on peanuts. Caught a quick vid of them chasing bait. Poor quality vid still I know. Looks more like a large Bonito in there than an Albie.

BatesBCheatin 10-05-2015 12:04 PM

Managed a single fish this morning before work CC. Seems very thin as of now. Friend picked up one as well after I left. Water was super clean anyway. So they are still around as was the bait.

yeah everyone speculates they're probably gone after that huge NE blow, but there's still a ton of peanuts around. My buddies slayed it the day before it got hairy like you and got a few in the wind on the jetties around the south side so maybe they're still here

I had a few shots over the weekend, but came up empty. I think we will know for sure by Thursday how damaging to the Albie bite this 'non storm' was. Seems to have really hurt SoCo more than MA from my intel and what I'm seeing.

couldn,t drive down Charlestown Beach this Pm .there wasn,t any beach ><>

holy bait in WH this morning, I saw a school that stretched from the mbl dock, in the center of the park, to the stone wall by the fisheries service. Not a thing on them, but did see jetty guys hooking up. It's a blessing and a curse to have to look out there in the course of an 8 hr day.

Guess i will have to take a look in the skiff this week down my way. Water was pretty clean at Oregon beach yesterday afternoon.

I think I talked to you a couple of weeks ago :buds:

That is good to hear because all the bait was gone over last weekend after the big blow . . .

I'd definitely be looking around that area if I were you. In fact, I will be looking around that area very soon if I can manage the time. May get a bit windy over the weekend into Monday according to reports so...

Clogston29 10-06-2015 02:11 PM

Any still around Newport? Need to head south for work Thursday morning. May give Newport or Cape a try early am.

Forgot to mention.. spotted some odd fish today lounging around that looked like foot long jacks. They were not banded rudder fish. Someone said they were jack crevalle? Jack body, deep forked yellow tail. they were just kind of swimmng around in small circles not feeding.

Saw a guy catch one of the jacks Memorial Day weekend down there. He said it was a pin tail jack. I could not find that online though.

In The Surf 10-06-2015 04:57 PM

Some banded rudder fish resemble amber jacks. Their stripes/scallops are nearly non recognizable and almost no band/stripe over the eyes

Clammer 10-06-2015 05:14 PM

BBC waaaaay back when Brayton PT PP discharged straight into the middle of lees River we always had rare fish .& sharks .. But every year we caught the Jack Cravelle / small but scrappy ><><
