The Wellbutrin made me a little looney for awhile and it gave me some crazy dreams. But it was definitely worth it.

I got two months and it's still an addiction. I can smell them a mile away and I'm about a half second from bumbing a smoke sometimes..but I just remind myself how much time I have into it and that I would have to start all over again at day one. I think after a couple weeks it gets easier. not easy, but easier.
Stick with it!:musc:

Never even after 10 years

jimmy z 03-04-2009 09:39 PM

I quit once for a year and a half. I picked 'em up again in a heartbeat.
Now, I just plain hate 'em. I didn't before.
Welcome to the club!:)

saltwaterhabits 03-04-2009 09:42 PM

'''does anyone find it gets easier after some point?'

Hey Bart, I'm about to hit 4 weeks.
I had a few rough days at first.. That was my physical withdrawal. I must admit the Wellbutrin helped immensely.
Today, I can go for about 5-6 hours at times when I don't think about a smoke. That nasty obsession has gone.
When I do think about a smoke I forget about it almost immmediately thereafter.
Go for it Bart,,,,Give it HELL. Mike

Yes it does ..The cravings slowly get further and further apart. The cravings also slowly get weaker and weaker . I was a 3 pack a day smoker ,(luckys , pallmalls).. That was like 18 yrs. ago . They say 5 days your not physicly addicted anymore . I'd say the little annoying things ,dreams, enjoying the smell,,last a good year. I don't want to overwhelm anyone with that . Thats nothing like the first week you went thru ,, Easy time .. Now that 3 pack a day guy seems like someone eles. That guy (me)was a hard core junky . Don't start again . You'll be pissed at yourself later . Time to grow a pair and not wimp out to the tobacco industry . :nailem:

bart 03-06-2009 01:38 PM

i've smoked 4 butts in the last six days. thats down from almost a pack day. so i haven't completely quit, but i'm getting there. been trying to sleep off the cravings. thanks for the encouragement...

saltwaterhabits 03-06-2009 02:06 PM

Pretty good Bart, you're almost there.:claps:

keeperreaper 03-06-2009 04:41 PM

Bart keep it up. One week no skoal for me.

thefishingfreak 03-11-2009 05:42 PM

another day down. lost count now.
I'm still on the wellbutrin, taking a pill about every other day. lots of wriglys gum. I feel great put on about 10 pounds but I could use it. :musc:

BasicPatrick 03-11-2009 11:35 PM

Today is March 11

65 days no smokes (down to three or four pcs of gum)

3 weeks of at least 5 days at Planet Fitness (lost like 4 lbs...bummer)

14 years clean (& sober) today (I still go to meetings)

jimmy z 03-13-2009 03:25 AM

I hope all are hanging tough.:musc:

Congrats Patrick .. Joining a gym is a good idea .. Getting in good shape makes less likely I'll poison myself .. I noticed a big difference working the beaches last year .. I actaully gained a few pounds at first joining a gym.. muscle is heavier than fat .. I'm going with it ..

BasicPatrick 03-16-2009 10:20 AM

Tagger...I hear you on the muscle weighs more idea...I have been good and going at least 5 days per week and have only lost 7 pounds...I am doing good on the cutting down and eating healthy and do think I am "shifting" some fat to muscle...I would rather be leaning down and am doing mostly cardio at the gym...reisisting the use of supplements and I am not sure aobut them.

thefishingfreak 03-25-2009 08:51 PM

still at it. lost count now. coming up on 3 months. :musc:
Still on the wellbutrin maybe a pill every 3'rd day or so . or when I start getting pissed off at the world I'll "take a pill dude"
maybe up 10 pounds or so but that leveled off.

jimmy z 03-26-2009 04:42 AM

Good to hear. Stay strong everyone.:wavey:

saltwaterhabits 03-31-2009 12:57 PM

Just about 7 weeks here.
Hope all fighting it off...and those nasty taxes....but mostly for our health .

Did we lose Bart ?
