Anyone thinking about new boats for next season?

I am. Well, I am always dreaming about boats but I will start looking this winter at a few. I may or may not pull the trigger depending on what I find. Need to narrow down the choices and find a great deal.

Are you considering a new/different boat in your future for 06? If so what kind?

Might make a ride a little bumpier but you save some fuel.

you want a new boat buy my old boat. MAKO 241 24 footer with twin Merc 200's less than 500 hours. Tricked out for fishing. It has every option you can think off. 19,900 takes it with trailor. Come and get it!!!

JoeyM 11-25-2005 06:10 PM

i closed on my new to me boat the last week of october.

the broker told me when they pulled it for the survey i should just have them set it up for winter storage right then.

what does he know? i bought the boat with 135 hrs on the motors, with a carefully timed vacation i managed to put over 30 more hrs on it before i had to put it away for the winter.

by buying right before winter was able to get a great deal. buyer's market right now...

here's the new ride:

But how to finance is the question,

B-assman 11-27-2005 06:03 PM

I'm always looking (though no plans to buy for the forseeable future). To feed my addiction - Scout just sent their latest newsletter - showcasing 4 new models - Also next year they're introducing a 35 Abaco (walkaround). As far as a wish list - I'd say the 260SF 260SF with twins looks pretty sweet.

Also - Congrats to Scott at Viking - Top 5 CSI (I think that's customer satisfaction) Dealer of the year!

Or if I can wait a few more years with my sslllooowww 30hp 17 skiff I would love their 23 Bristol.

Yeh - Scott is the real deal. He was blessed with boat and engine skills, not typing skills, otherwise he would likely particpate here more :hihi: (he is a sponsor, and a decent fellow as well).

Me, I'm just looking to get mine done....

zacs 11-28-2005 10:14 AM

Clammer 11-28-2005 10:18 AM

Jonny --a ton of digger,s have them // I don,t see alot of them setup for straight fishing //because unless they changed there hull design ,with the low sides , Its a wet boat /// & pounds// it all depends on what & where your planning to fish ....

RIROCKHOUND 11-28-2005 10:44 AM

Looks similar to a RoMarine Hull; wet and pound for sure, but a great work boat...

zacs 11-28-2005 10:49 AM

Isn't there a Ocean Scout 23' center console for sale at quaker lane? I think so. It has been there all summer long. Probably could get a good deal on it, but perhaps it has problems, which is why it is there. If you are interested in this brand it is worth a stop by anyway.

Looks like a nice center console.

Mr. Sandman 11-28-2005 11:03 AM

Zac,

Those are some nice rigs, I should hire you as my agent and help me find a boat!

Actually, we are looking at an Osprey. There is a 28 with a single diesel and a new model this year 30' with twins. I hope to see one at the Boston show. I don't want an engine box in my cockpit esp against the transom. I know the 28 and 30 have a clear deck. Also I keep looking at the mirage 32. What do you have in a 48' trawler? (wifes first choise)

If I had the cash I would just get a Predator. I love the way that boat moves.
http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1444118/0 This is one awesome sportfish.

MoroneSaxatilis 11-28-2005 11:41 AM

That Pursuit is pretty much my dream boat, so to speak, except for that fact that it's OBs. A Rampage wouldn't be too shabby either. Perhaps an early nineties Wellcraft Coastal 28.I WILL get a new boat this offseason if everything goes according to plan (but does it ever?).

Sounds good to me. You can pay me with the SeaCraft.

If you had the cash, why stop there...

too flashy? ok, what about this:

http://macgregoryachts.com/core/list...cgregoryachts&

Boy I love dreaming about boats. Don't even get me started on sailboats....One day I would really love to just sell everything and buy a hinkley or little harbour or whatever and just sail it around the world. I'm not sure how I would feed my family, though. Still working on that part...

I had a 33 egg, nice comfortable boat but slow and a bit of a gas hog.
I went smaller now time to move back up a bit.

Zac,
Nice but I think I have to cap my fishing boat price at about 100-150K tops. Not 1.5 mil. If you have a mil to blow you can get a awesome rig. I dream about them all the time too...

oooh, its low tide here...gotta run and get my weekly scallop limit...bye

JohnR 11-28-2005 03:16 PM

I wouldn't want anything requiring a "crew" to operate. Give me Blackwatch or 30 something Bertie or Carolina Classic or maybe even a JC for the "big boat", a bracketed 23 SC for bassin & tuna, 1 20 SC for the bay and inshore, and a 16' Quintrex for rock hopping :hihi: - that would round out a "Four Boat Theory©" for me
