Thanx guys.
Getting a Discogram to see if they are gonna do back surgery on me.
A discogram is an enhanced X-ray examination of the intervertebral discs. Dye is injected into the center of the injured disc(s). The dye makes the disc clearly visible on X-ray film and on a fluoroscope (special X-ray TV screen).

Good luck Dave
I know it's hard to not be nervous but do your best to relax and have confidence in the doctors and you'll do fine. I know, it's easier said than done but the less anxiety the better.

BigFish 02-07-2007 01:20 PM

I got a bad back too Dave....makes all that casting tough sometimes doesn't it?

Hurry up and get better cause I expect you to be doing the wave at Fenway when Matsuzaka pitches!!:laughs:

basswipe 02-07-2007 06:51 PM

I feel for ya.

4 spinal taps when I was 14.Bacterial Meningitis.

And people wonder why I ain't right.Four of the most painful things your body can go through combined with a disease that makes you pray for death.

The 4 taps are what I remember most.I would really prefer to die than have those again.

fishaholic18 02-07-2007 07:07 PM

It sucked, I can barely walk right now. I had 4 epidurals in the last couple years and the $#@! pain didn't come close to this crap. Wife is picking up my meds now, can't wait.:humpty:

afterhours 02-07-2007 08:35 PM

hunan 02-07-2007 10:34 PM

you are a better man than i, dave. i got sick last year and had a tap. took him 3 times to get it right. if your pain is worse and i had it i'd be typing like this. fiduhicvia v 784 vunio zcjnj

Good luck Dave - Do as the Doc says or you will have a head ache like your head is exploding. I had a couple of those done before surgery many years ago. I hope they can operate with the scope, much better results recovering. Good Luck.:hs:

Squid kids Dad 02-07-2007 11:09 PM

Hope you feel better Dave

BigBo 02-07-2007 11:47 PM

Dave. I know that sh!t's extremely painful. I hope they can do something for you and ease your pain for the long term. Best of luck.

Swimmer 02-08-2007 11:52 AM

Good luck on the outcome.

Goose 02-08-2007 03:10 PM

Dam dude..hang in there. Every time I seen "You had a date with a needle ect." I was thinking needle(plug)...didn't read the whole thing:smash: not needle neeedle. Tough times don't last tough people do! Pray for the best and you'll get it.

fishaholic18 02-08-2007 05:22 PM

Has anyone ever heard of a procedure called IDET? It's an experimental procedure that the Doc is reccomending I try before surgery.

Dave, i hadn't heard of it before but took a good hard look at the procedure and how "less Invasive it is" compared to a major surgery and it doesn't look that bad and relatively safe. I would want to talk to people that have already had this done and see what they say.....
if i were you. If they say they are free of pain...go for it.

fishaholic18 02-08-2007 06:05 PM

Now to see if the %$#@ insurance co. will approve it..Right..:nailem:
Heres more info on it:
