MDA Tourney - October 18,19,20

OK - I have had several people inquiring about the MDA Shore Tourney out of Weekapaug B&T coming up in 2 weeks. S-B will pay the entry fee and field a team for this tourney so I'm wondering who can participate.

The meat of the tourney is just that, meat :eek5: ... The team with the heaviest combined 3 bass and 3 blues winds. This is not an individual but a team tourney... I'll put the details down below...

There is also a breakfast on Sunday at the Andrea Hotel, let me know if you might do that so I can get a # out...

Thanks,

John

SeaWolf 10-14-2002 06:21 PM

JohnS 10-15-2002 12:54 PM

Hey Rich R.

your rods are right where I left them about a week ago! You better bring em inside before I "hide" them.

Rich, I don't think I can swing it....but if I go I will give you a heads up. At best I would only be able to do the early Sunday morning thingy. Depends how much partying goes on the night before! I will be in touch.

Carl 10-18-2002 12:57 PM

I am planning on fishing tonight for the MDA tourny and was wondering if anybody else is also. If so, maybe we can meet somewhere and plan our attack. I am planning on starting around 10 pm.

Hope to see some of you tonight!

JohnR 10-18-2002 04:12 PM

Carl - i'm getting down to Weekapaug late tonight too, probably closer to 11, give me a call on the cell - 617-512-2541

Scotch Bonnet 10-18-2002 05:32 PM

John, do we have any size standards as a team. I'm guessing a 30" fish won't place in this tourney but you never know. We killin everything legal? I will be at C-town Breachway around 11:00pm(yellow raincoat/orange Grundens). I'll give you a ring if I hook into one.

chris L 10-18-2002 05:52 PM

Im home after 24 hours on the cape . My youngest has the flu bad so I was asked to cut my trip short . I wouldnt do it for anyone else but my girls . So I dont think Ill be fishing in RI this weekend . yes I was into fish all small but fish all the same then the beeper goes off so, off I go home . Next year Ill fish the cape again ! just like every year .

JohnR 10-18-2002 06:47 PM

Hey Chris, bug the kids alot and they'll get better just to get away from ya...

Scotch... Tough call but I'd say a 30" fish wouldn't be good for the tourney. It's a team tourney where the largest 3 fish (bass or blue) of the team are added up...

I usually wouldn't keep a 30" fish for any reason, unless I could not revive it...

Might see you out there

chris L 10-19-2002 07:55 AM

John
Ive been bothering them since day one and they are still here ! Its the wife Ive got to work on but she enjoys the fact that she never knows what Im going to say or do next ! She must be a glutton for amusement . ;) good thing she only reads this board on occasion

JohnR 10-19-2002 10:23 AM

Well, met up with Carl, Jenn, anf the non-bloo crab at Weeky last night. Carl & I hit one spot while Jenn & Red hit another. Sacrificed an eel to the bluefish gods at spot #1 (was way too late in tide for my taste). Carl went on to hit another spot on his way home and I headed east where I managed one 12 pound fish on the first drift, released hoping for bigger but that was it there...

Heading back late afternoon... Anyone else do anything?

Tattoo, you going to be where I think you are going to be? I'd like to drive one of those darters at a couple choice spots tonight :D

Clammer 10-19-2002 12:09 PM

Yea ,John R ,I got fish this morning, same as the other night, had to keep moving ,more fish ===no size , completely stripped the gears in that reel // Is it worth fixing ????
totaled a prop === had to change to another one, snotty out there right now
Good luck, Mike
I,ll be out again tomorrow am ==its getting near the end & its going to be a long winter///////////////////////

Scotch Bonnet 10-19-2002 04:19 PM

Nadda for me. Going way up inside the Breachway tonight and maybe work my way twords the end as the tide changes. Nothing over 18#s in the tourney so far. John you fish would have been up near the top.

Tattoo 10-19-2002 05:26 PM

JohnR,

If the place you think I will be has a light house then YEAH, I'll be there LATE tonight. Should arrive aroun midnight.
