Hello!!! This is Marinetropical

Hello everyone, at the suggestion of JohnR, I am posting here to introduce myself. I am a graduate of the University of Delaware where I doubled majored in political science and criminal law. Was fortunate enough to obtain a full scholarship at U of D where I played offensive guard. I signed with the New York Jets in 1982, but was released do to an injury. I'm 6'4" 320 lbs. Have three beautiful kids but unfortunately I am divorced. I have my own business and I am a fisherman first. Fisherman for 35 years. So, there you have it, a little bio of me.
I love cape cod and I fish there quite frequently in may, june and then in sept and october. Beautiful area, hope to live there some day.
Someday, I hope to meet mikecc, gotstripers, JohnR and maybe some of you fellow fisherman on the boards. Especially mikecc and gotstripers, they seem to really love me!! LOL Just kidding! But, seriously I would like to meet you guys.
I am not one for message boards, but I would like to take this oppurtunity to apologize whoever feelings may have been hurt on these threads. Some of these post I have no idea who these people are that started threads. I do know a few guys on SOL, but not many and I can assure they are not saying anything. If any of you guys go on SOL you'll see all the hogwash there.
I love fishing, I love knowing people as well as getting to know them. Please feel free to post all your nice things or display anger at me here if you want. Hope to see you on the water.

JohnR did you get the samples I sent to you, Enjoy! Let me know how you make out? I know you said you like to try them out before I can advertise on here, I understand your position! I think you are going to like them! Keep in touch, MT

Got Stripers 04-24-2003 04:24 PM

Welcome aboard MT and no I've got nothing against you. Just found the blatent spam on several boards, whether orchastrated or not, to be a bit much; especially when I'd been sitting back playing by the rules.

Your product looks good and you should have noted I'd mentioned that on some of the threads. Too bad I can't say the same for your "friends", as they did a pretty good job of bashing my product. Funny when I doubt they had fished it, seen it, held it or even knew what was involved.

Still it's America, competition makes us all better, there is a niche for everyone. Still I fault you regardless for not reining in you buds before it got out of hand.

Tight lines.

marinetropical 04-24-2003 04:40 PM

Got stripers, Thanks for the welcome, the majority of the posts are from people I know nothing of. I have used your product and I find it to be effective. I never bashed your's or anyone else's product. I am not and canoot be a babysitter for people that may say they are my friends, or they may just be acquaintances. I have no control over them or anyone else. So, Please don't fault me there! At any rate, We both have great products, yours has been around longer than mine. I'm not looking to compete with anyone, I am here to be a friend, a member and help the fisherman due what we all love to do and that is catch fish.
Ya know got stripers there is so much negativity in the world, and life passes us by quickly, Between the economy, war, personal stuff that happens in each of our own private worlds, it's nice to know trhat we can, god willing, pick up a rod and go fishing and let our troubles float away. At least for a little while. I'm sure you will agree with me on that. ;) Respectfully, MT

JohnR 04-24-2003 05:25 PM

MT - welcome. Understand, as I said in that e-mail last week, that there is some bad mojo going around from the episodes of the past few weeks and months from all the boards. I sincerely hope you understand where I'm coming from with that e-mail and how I really don't want to see it continue. Now that being said, I've been too busy to follow up more on that - or return your e-mail from last week. But again, welcome to S-B...

Haven't gotten any samples an honestly have been too busy to look... I'll say more later but going to watch Clifford - The Big Red Dog for the 47,342 time this month... (some of you understand :D )...

Fine by me, I've had enough crap dumped in my lap this past week, to make any of this seem completely meaningless. Welcome, contribute, help the others on the board and catch large:).

You gotta be kidding me - you work at Clair Acura? Who is running that joint nowadays?

BigBo 04-24-2003 09:26 PM

MT, I think it's going to take a while to earn respect from those that read your posts on the other board. You kept replying saying that you had to respect the rules and TimS, but then in the very same post, it was as though your fingers were posessed and you just couldn't stop yourself from plugging your product. I just think there are better ways of advertising your product and not pissing off so many people. I'm sure you have a good product (although they seem a bit pricey) and I know you had some problems getting the banner up on SOL. Whether your friends trying to help or not, your responses fueled the flames too.
Anyways, best of luck peddling your product, and hope we all have tight lines this season. Just not soon enough!

marinetropical 04-25-2003 01:04 AM

Well bobber, In answer to your question, coming from your side it would seem that way. I agree in that sense. But, coming from my side I had already e-mailed Tim several times and he had said that he was loading the software, and whenit was done I would of been able advertise. So, I didn't think it would be a big deal to say anything about the penetrator, because in my mind I was saying to myself, "Oh well, as soon as Tim gets done with the software, I don't think he'll mind if I say something about the product, since I will be advertising on here anyway." If i am guilty of anything it would be maybe that. But, Tim was ok with it after I e-mailed him. He didn't want it to be a habit, but he was cool. So, I hope this NOW you understand where I was coming from. In any event I hope we all get some good fishing in, but this weather is getting me down in the dumps a little. Hope to see you on the water Bobber. MT

John, try and loose the clifford tape and get the new Thornberry's Movie, I've seen it about 15 times so far and it's the least annoying to date. My nightmare kids tape was "CinderElmo", that little red muppet stole Grovers glory.

redlite 04-25-2003 08:54 AM

My dad still goes into a rage every time he here's a song from my generation's equivalent--------"Annie"--------I guess "The Sun Come Out Tomorrow" just doesn't have a place in his heart.

schoolie monster 04-25-2003 09:28 AM

Welcome MT. Guess I missed all the fun since I have no idea what anyoe is talking about.

Now, on to the other subject... worst kids shows/movies:

Thomas and the Magic Railroad
Kipper
Rugrats ... the constant whining and baby talk makes me sick
Almost any Disney "part 2" movie due to the crappy animation, cheesy songs and identical plots
Any movie with Michael J. Fox as one of the voices

Just my .02

Hi John,

Mark Clair, Frank Petrozzi, Doug Grattan.... you know the business?

Best,
Michael

JohnR 04-25-2003 10:18 AM

Frank Petrozzi ? Hehehehe - 5-10, semi balding, talks with his hands (not trying to be stereotypical here :rollem: ), Married to his high school sweetheart? Or Frank Petrozzi, big guy 6-2, used to play AAA ball, also talks with his hands? Not balding...

And yes, I know Mark - haven't seen him in 13-15 years or so but I know Mark, heheheh. I used to know many of the Clair oldtimers from even before the Bowling Alleys were bought - both bowling alleys....

BigBo 04-25-2003 10:26 AM

I know what you mean with the kid movies and shows. Almost every night it's Spongebob! That's a messed up show. I think I could actually get into it if I was hammered!:smash: I usually end up trying to take a power nap through it only to be waken up by my 2 1/2 yr. old grandson yelling, "WAKE UP PA!"

Hey John,

Mark is probably the only one left that you would know then....Frank doesn`t fit your descriptions. I`ve been with them since 11/97

Now lets catch some damn fish!

I'll send you a PM

Hey, back to the worst kid shows thread-hijack..

I can't believe no one has brought this one up...

http://www.thewiggles.com/STORE/CDS/FINALS/012.jpg

I've got a 2 year old that hasn't missed an episode yet.

I messed up my knee and spent last week riding the couch and had to sit through this and every other Disney channel show. If it wasn't for the Percocet, I would never made it through the week.

JohnR 04-25-2003 12:13 PM

Hooked - I live in a Wiggles Free Zone. My 2 1/2 year old loves it too but we've steered him well clear of it and gladly sacrifice at the altar of Elmo, Pooh, or Thomas the Tank Engine before we let the Wiggles...

REALLY sorry to see that knee X-ray... I have 2 bad wheels now (ACL / MCL) but I don't have a shattered knee with bolts holding up the fort... Get well - it sucks.

Fishpart 04-25-2003 12:26 PM

Dump the cable, lock on PBS and lose the remote when The Purple Idiot comes on!!!

Tough looking knee

Thanks for the well-wishes. I F'd myself up pretty thoroughly on this one. Freak accident while playing hockey with the kids.

40 sucks.

The only good news I've gotten so far was that the damage was just to the bone and not to the cartilage, ligaments or other tissue. Longer to heal but hopefully fewer long term problems.

I figure I'll be on the water by June although I doubt the korkers will be going on 'til fall. To put it in perspective, as I was still on the ice, my second thought was "how the h*ll am I going to go fishing now?" (The first thought was wondering how I was going to tell my wife.)

Forget the 4 leg tournament, I'm just hoping for a 2 leg.

MAC 04-25-2003 06:01 PM

 Ouch, looks pretty uncomfortable. Get well soon
