It's About the Plug

We need a thread to show and tell, credit other builders, and brag a bit about your own stuff. If you get a decent fish on your own or someone else's plug, lets see it. We all learn and it keeps the juices flowing. At the end of the season I'll do a random drawing of anyone (other than me) who posts a fish and give away some plugs.

I'll go first. Traded Paul (Prof M) for this sweet little swimmer (sort of a Beachmaster schoolie style). Fished it for 2 weeks now with hardly a sniff from small fish. Looked so good I stuck with it. Tonight was my reward. 3 fish @15-18# (on a Arra 1083 ). Thanks Paul, you got robbed :heybaby:

George, I think This threads a great idea...

Here's a picture of a nice fish my dad got last night. We only get to fish together about 10-15 nights a year so we hit it pretty hard when we get the chance. We covered a lot of ground the past 2nights, falmouth to plymouth. We ran into Cranium at one spot this am.

My dad's goto plug for a lot of years has been the needlefish, so last night I threw one I made for him in the bag even though we intended to fish swimmers at night and pencils/poppers at dawn. And you know that one needlefish plug is the only one we could could get them to hit consistantly.

This fish was a 22 lb racer, big head & no gut... The needle took a pretty good beating, it was new yesterday. I'm psyched I had the camera, and even more amazing is the picture actually came out good considering it was 2am ish and we were out in the water...

johnny ducketts 05-15-2008 05:31 PM

That's awesome, DJ.. I finished those ones you gave me at plugfest, now I can't wait to see what they catch.:btu:

Mono...

Diggin Jiggin 05-16-2008 08:41 AM

Chris, that sucks. I thought that having a siwash on the tail would prevent them from leveraging the belly hook against the tail hook.
I've done that on plugs with 2 trebles but never on one with a siwash on the tail.

Cranium 05-16-2008 01:05 PM

Nice fish and Prof M great plug, nice to see a plug where it belongs

DJ good to see you and meet your dad. Nothing much went on after you left. couple of schoolies. like the needle.

There is a man whose life just got richer. Credit to the captain as well.

ProfessorM 05-17-2008 08:55 PM

Great job. I am surprised he doesn't have an inferiority complex with the badgering Ernie was handing out to him, as I was in ear shot, although I think he caught more fish than him:bl:

Nah, you're the man and he's the help. Better keep an eye on him, that class folk are prone to stealing things and other base behaviors you know. Watch your plugs, your lunch,.......and don't leave him alone with your wife, girlfriend, or favorite pet.
Happy Bday.

johnny ducketts 05-18-2008 08:12 AM

Mr. Striper, and Biteme,

Thanks again for taking me out to catch my first keepers of the year , I had a blast and although the yellow darter is no longer with us, It will live on in in my heart, or at least until I ho one to take it's place.

Mr. Striper.. holy cow, it really is your birthday, hopefully you make out with some plugs, enjoy your day. Thanks again.
