Wicked Tuna

Who is looking forward to the new season? I would like to see Marciano have a great season the guy deserves it.

Rob Rockcrawler 01-01-2013 05:13 PM

I like the show, been waiting for the new season.

Raider Ronnie 01-01-2013 07:38 PM

The only shows I watch are on Discovery, National Geo & a few others like the one that has the show How it's made.
You couldn't pay me to watch any of these reality shows or ones like American Idol ect......
Wicked Tuna is a lot better than the stupid show they got on now, Moonshiners.

thefishingfreak 01-01-2013 07:42 PM

I'm not sure how his season went but I read on FB that his boat sank while at the dock. They were able to raise it but had some damage.

Save the files to an external hard drive.

Watch on a laptop.

wdmso 01-03-2013 07:58 PM

They need more fishing and less trash talking it gets old quick

nightfighter 01-13-2013 12:13 PM

Season one marathon on now through 7pm. Season two opener tonight

Typhoon 01-14-2013 08:44 AM

Pretty good. Better than watching American idol.

They should just run a 1 hr show of rods going off. I could watch that all night. It's like a heroin junkie watching a show of people shooting up.

nightfighter 01-14-2013 09:42 AM

"We're setting up on my secret spot...." with half a dozen boats in the camera shot behind them....:smash:

It did get me jonesing to get back out there.

saltyric 01-14-2013 05:42 PM

Was lucky enough to get an invite to the season two premier party in Boston Friday night. Real nice group of guys. Had a great time speaking with them all.

I want a reel like the guys on the Hard Merchandise. It changes colors from silver to gold and back during the fight.

Also,
One minute Sandro on .com is jigging bait with a shimano tld,
next second (same scene ) he's using a penn 113

PRBuzz 01-21-2013 07:31 AM

Don't watch the seas, from FAC to 3-4'...editors take a little too much for granted!:smash:

MakoMike 01-21-2013 09:08 AM

They really need a better continuity editor. In last night's episode one fish was fought on three different rods & reels.

Fly Rod 01-21-2013 10:10 AM

U guys R finally catching on....:)

PRBuzz 01-21-2013 10:51 AM

Tuna fishing is BORING, no one would watch the real thing!

Fly Rod 01-28-2013 10:56 AM

Dave Marciarno was taken to the hospital after fainting and hitting his head on a door knob while watching episode 3 at home last nite

iamskippy 01-28-2013 11:07 AM

I am really starting to not like this show, i think its horrible, stop the drama, stop the bs. I care about fishing. Honeslty i hope Tyler rips ralphs head off but they are really ruining the shot, and the bounty hunter is pathetic, good god man give it up retire if all you are going to whine......

I think the show showcases how absurdly dumb these guys are. Frankly I think it gives an overall poor image to the public. The intra-boat BS that is displayed on that show is not like that in real life(and most fisherman would not put up with that crap ) and makes them (comm tuna fisherman) look like a rather dim-witted group. I don't watch it anymore. Sportfish guys are a much more intelligent as a group.

Actually it happens in real life too.....in the cod charter fleet I have seen that intra-boat BS happen a few times over numbers.......

Yeah I have too... "Hey!! get off my numbers!!" That always kills me.

Typhoon 01-29-2013 08:02 AM

The cod charter nonsense is ridiculous. These are my humps!

The southwest corner is my spot. Get off it.

I was explaining to my wife how the P-town boats seem to get along just fine with the drift fishing off the race for giants. There's no fighting. Everyone drifts in an orderly fashion.

MakoMike 01-29-2013 09:21 AM

Remember, even though this is "reality TV" the story lines and much of the meaning of what is said is scripted. What you see on TV isn't necessarily representative of how those guys really are. The producers need to introduce some drama to keep the audience entertained.

Fly Rod 01-30-2013 03:26 PM

Marciarno had a kat-scan and nothing was found...he was released and will be going back for futher testing

sokinwet 01-30-2013 03:49 PM

On the show they argue about numbers....on the NW they leave their anchor & ball out in the same spot for days. A real PIA dropping the hook and then seeing a ball 100 yds. of your stern.

thefishingfreak 01-30-2013 05:14 PM

Noone leaves there ball overnight. That's a good way to loose it.
If you see an empty ball it's because they're either off on a fish, looking for bait, or just scouting around.

Even then you tend to lose them.

There was a small bite on the SWC this year. I would get out super early. Drop my ball, then steam in to the flats and get my bait. I'd come out and have 4 friends anchored real close.

sokinwet 02-01-2013 09:31 AM

I agree Mike; a good way to lose it.... but I've seen it more than once. Maybe these guys were scouting or looking for bait....all day for two days in a row.

Anybody give U a free new engine???...bet not.

Anybody come up from Florida give U a free "diamond paint job???..bet not.

Anybody give U new tuna rods & reels???? ..bet not.

U an airline pilot and take the summer off to go tuna fishing???...bet not.

I can agree how asinine the program is as all reality shows...People in the mid west states eat this crap up.

Fly Rod 02-02-2013 10:23 AM

I forgot one:

Anyone offering U $3,000.00 for a 12 hundred dollar fishing trip???...bet not....:) :)

Mr. Sandman 02-02-2013 11:08 AM

LOL! These guys barely have a pot to piss in and complain about breaking even, taking spare jobs, doing something else, etc. In the big picture, what they get is chump change and it only last for a few months at best.

Tuna fishing is not competitive. At least I have never seen it as such. Do I want to catch a big fish? sure...do I care if your fish is bigger than mine? You have got to be kidding, frankly I would be happy for you!
The "lets see what I can do to this guy to piss this guy #^&#^&#^&#^& aspect of the show is absurd and is what make them look dumb. Bunch of goons with fishing rods. It is basically New England's version of those hillbilly's who catch catfish with their hands.

I don't watch it more than a few min /month anyway anymore so I don't really care. I would bet it gets canceled soon. Midwest interest? They are more interested in bass and walleye fishing.

I would much rather watch Jose' W fish for tuna on spin in Terry Nugent's CC. It is a lot more reality to me.

MakoMike 02-03-2013 08:58 AM

The show isn't aimed at fishermen, if it was it would be on ESPN 2 and would only last one season. Its the non-fishermen that eat all that crap up, and most of that stuff is scripted, not spontaneous.

Rob Rockcrawler 02-03-2013 11:49 AM

I met Pirate yesterday, he was at an ice fishing tourney on my lake. I kept hearing "Pirate flag up". All decked out in his grundens and xtra tuffs.

Your kidding...right. These guys are doing pretty good, not because of the show, but because the only one that actually only fishes for a living is Dave Marciano. You got to realize its a scripted show...its like a movie. None of the #^&#^&#^&#^& is real besides when they show them sticking one and what not. You think when tyler pulls up to dave and they act like they have never met on the first episode thats real?

He's actually a member at the Yarmouth town golf courses, saw him a few times at Bass River G.C. this year. Rockin jeans, a bandana and a windbreaker... :laughs:
