First off thanks Slip and JohnR. I had a good time and am glad I went today. It was nice to talk with other builders and exchange ideas. For anybody I talked to I hope I was of some help and look forward to seeing some of your creations. Food was awesome (could have fed 2 more armies), conversation great as was seeing some other builders creations.

rocketman 01-03-2004 06:20 PM

Great Time Was Had By All!

Had a great time today at the "Plug Fest"! Had the opportunity to meet so many of the people from here on the site and it was a pleasure meeting all of you! I would like to send a special "Hello" out to MacoJoe's daughter, a very nice young lady who obviously enjoys fishing with her Dad, and by the way her face lit up when MJ mentioned Scup fishing, I could tell she really enjoyed doing that with her Dad and that was nice to see. Good for you MJ, really nice kid there. Thanks to Slipknot for putting it all together and giving me a little lesson in plug building, and thanks to JohnR for everything, it was a great day! Also, special thanks to Christian for the gift of a Wonderbread colored "Wonder Needle" that he gave me with his signature on it, it really meant alot to me and I don't know if I can really fish it as it was such a nice gesture. Thanks again Christian and it was great talking with you and your Dad and I am looking forward to a trip to the Race with both of you this up coming season. Thanks again to all, really a great time!

BigFish 01-03-2004 06:48 PM

I want to thank everyone. I had a great time at the plug fest. I met a few people, Missing link, Jr. link, Christians father, and Bigfish. Yes, i do like scup fishing. Over the summer my father and I decided to go get a few scup because we were not getting a lot of fluke. About every 2-5 minutes we were catching scup. It was great i really enjoyed it. I cant wait maybe we can all hook up and go fishing this summer. Then i can teach you guys to fluke fish as good as me. LOL. Thanks again.

Flaptail 01-03-2004 08:42 PM

Thanks to Slip, his lovely wife, and John R.,it was really great seeing Eelpunt, Adam R., VB, Tagger, Newell Guy, Thanks to #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&, love that Dancin' Banana! Nice seeing Karl F., Capesams, the old grump, Big Fish, Fishweewee your the man, Specialist, Hugh Schultz, Got Stripers,Eben( I want a squid!), Bassmaster holding court at the lathe, NIB you are too funny but I still think you and Bassmaster might be related, Toonoc, and all the others. I can see this becoming a show in the next year or two, A tackle-crafters show with plug building, rod building and fly tying all wrapped up into one event. I had fun sharing alittle part of my plug collection with you all and can't wait till next year but now I must get ready for the upcoming season and my first Insider's column submission for OTW'S April issue is only 7 weeks away. Here's to a great year for all of you!:D

Bazza 01-03-2004 09:05 PM

Thanks to Bruce, his wife Melissa, and John for putting the plug feast together. I had a great time and it was good to put some meet up with some of you all. Looks like there was plenty of food;)

Got Stripers 01-03-2004 09:06 PM

Thanks to all that stopped by, a percentage is going back to John to run the show, I only wish I got around more. Always a problem when you set up shop, hard to get around to mingle much, but the riff raff seemed to drift around enough:). I have a loose rear seal tonight, must be something I ate.

ThrowingTimber 01-03-2004 09:08 PM

I want to go fishing now!

Thanks Slip, John R!

All paid up for the stripers and blues tourney.

Learned some great stuff that I can put to use. I can read something 8 times and retain it, I see something once and Its locked in my mind forever.

Wee Wee you ever start making that Kaa* plug you let me know I know who to send them to for Christmas.:D

Met a bunch of great ppl. today! It was cool to put names to faces. Tried to talk a bit with everyone there but there was a good crowd of dangerously obsessed people, uh I mean dedicated anglers/builders there. :D

UserRemoved1 01-03-2004 09:09 PM

mmmmm glad I not the only one Bob...damn thing is barkin here

BigFish 01-03-2004 09:10 PM

Thanks Flaptail!

Flaptail...I tried to PM you but your box is full. Nice to meet you today and I want to thank you for bringing part of your valued plug collection. It was great to hold the first Gibbs plug, however I did not get a chance to ask you how this plug came into your possesion? There must be a good story behind that and I would love to hear it when you get a minute. Thanks again Flap.:thanks:
