Big Wood...Big Fish!

MAC 01-11-2004 09:39 AM

LOL, I couldn't fit a longer piece of wood in my lathe. They are cool, but no it will never see the water.

BigFish 01-11-2004 09:40 AM

Saltys Needle!

1075 pound striper!:laugha: All things being relative!

UserRemoved1 01-11-2004 09:43 AM

CS that's PARROT

and not much glitter....that shine is my addition of another paint :D

MAC 01-11-2004 09:43 AM

The big plugs are cool, but I have to admit the largest plug I ever saw was hanging down at the SaltWater Edge in Newport. Must be 4' long.

UserRemoved1 01-11-2004 09:45 AM

Probably Hab's needle, black? Someone said it used to be down at Weekapaug but wasn't anymore.

capesams 01-11-2004 09:46 AM

my glasses have to much spray paint on them...everything look yellow:smash:

capesams 01-11-2004 09:47 AM

that needle was at slips last year.....salty check ya pm's.

MAC 01-11-2004 09:49 AM

Yes I think it is a black one. What a monster. When I was turning this plug I just locked down the 5x5 and away I went. Didn't knock the corners off first but should have. Kind of an scary feeling seeing that large piece of wood spinning and getting ready to hit with the gouge. I am going to buy a bed extension for my lathe this spring. Then the 32" pikie will be spawned.

Christian 01-11-2004 10:02 AM

NICE

Nebe 01-11-2004 11:16 AM

:kewl: its nice to seee plugs that cant be used. In art school we would be calling this 'denying the piece it's function'... thus making it more special.
good going!

rob-s 01-11-2004 11:59 AM

rig that to a downrigger cable an tow it around for a while:laughs:
Big tuna

missing link 01-11-2004 12:00 PM

You gotta swim that Newelly..Troll it down Nantasket Beach and watch all the bathers running out of the water ..:laughs:

Skitterpop 01-11-2004 01:57 PM

Pikie Kayak?

Cousin Newelly

Can you make a 15 ft Sea Pikie Kayak with a cockpit with room for some fishing gear?

That would be cool!

BigFish 01-11-2004 02:49 PM

Tagger, I could use Newell Guys plug to throw at the pain in the a$$ surfers down Nantasket! Know what I mean?:uhuh:

Tagger 01-11-2004 04:59 PM

Your certainly big enough to throw it ,,that thing would land like a cannon ball ...:)

stick it in this, get ready, and let it fly! (excuse the cheesy photo please)

when I was in highshool I used to have one and when I went chunking we'd use it to launch out chunks for chumming.... man we caught a lot fish that way...big bass and bloos off Ft. Adams. I've never seen anyone else do this trick to this day, but it works.
