At this point I've taken the needle off of the pipe and am fire-polishing where the breakoff was....Then it gets put in an oven over night to cool.

 kewl!

I got plenty of beach sand and a tourch, can I do that:confused:

Capesams, in theory you could melt beach sand with a torch, but it would be soo stiff you couldnt do anything with it... my glass is sand mixed with fluxes to bring the melting point down to a managable temp-
Youngsalt it takes years:D I think 10/0 hooks would work Blackeye- :smash: |

 different kind:smash:
to make glass you need silica (sand), soda ash and lime stone(fluxes). Way back... like 5000 years ago, glass was invented on a beach when sailors (or surfcasters:rolleyes: ) made a fire with seaweed and used limestone rocks to make a fire pit... when the fire got going the ash from the seaweed mixed with the sand and the limestones and in the morning the hung over sailors awoke to a pool of cold glass inside the fire pit... (or so the story goes) |

Gotta get me one of them ovens.
