Hey, congrats on the new baby, cute one... adjustin' in well with the boss cat?

How do those danny's swim with the one belly hook?
I was thinkin' of doing that, but thought they had to be 2

Slipknot 07-26-2004 08:01 PM

Slip...that's what I call my seaweed needle......those little danny's came from one I picked up from Jim Grechy when he owned gibbs,,but u gave me the idea to make them...txs.

BEAUTIFUL WORK CS!

NIB 07-26-2004 09:17 PM

REELY NICE Paintin is my favorite part the scalin is beautiful.I'll take the jointed plug now thanks.

Motor Fish 07-26-2004 09:29 PM

That is a full fledged plug orgy!!! They are AWESOME!
:kewl: :kewl: :kewl: :kewl:

And with spray cans! Very impressive.

capesams 07-26-2004 09:49 PM

txs. guy's....spray cans work well once you get to know how each one act's. templet's,netting all work the same with spray cans as with an airbrush.

BERNZY.....have you looked at a old heddon zaragossa plug lately? those were made long before you came along...atleast six different company's made that same shape, so before you make a total fool of yourself claiming it's your, do some research first.

NIB...12 of those just went to RI...I'll be makin more...those are murats lrg. jointed....just remind me later on to save you one or two.

guzz 07-26-2004 10:05 PM

CS,
wow! that is some excellent work dude! i have to admit, even though the fish probably don't care,i too get into playing around with the painting thing.your paint schemes are awe inspiring!

are you sure about the zaragossa thing? i thought they were those sort of triangle shaped critters that in my opinion were a hard bait spoof on the sluggo craze? i think i still have a couple of those things lying around some where.your the first person i have ever heard mention them.for how great they looked in the water,i never caught a darn thing on them:(

capesams 07-26-2004 10:34 PM

GUZZ..I have many old plug catolog's /reference books...hundreds of colored pages ....my go to book is by Karl T.White,,a must have if you can find one....it doesn't show every plug built, but it sure cover's alot of old time maker's/company's.....one stroll through that book an you'll see many of the same shapes from different company's....in fact I had my hands on a brand new heddon zargossa this weekend at a flea mkt..in the box....other than the screw on haredware there's no way you can the different's between bernzy's,mine an this heddon, other than the size differents...the heddon is only about 31/2" long.....if it didn't get sold last sunday, I'll blow the $$ an pick it up from the guy[he's bringing some goodies for me next sunday] an I'll post a pic.......yea! painting is half the fun..wait till you see the next one's.

guzz 07-26-2004 11:44 PM

can't wait dude! and thanks for the info on the plugs.

Bernzy Ur post is out of character. So U made a copy of a old design an some folks had some success with it.Another talented builder makes one similar an u jump on him.U should be flattered.not insulted.I hope that I'm reading U wrong. But isn't that what this forum is all about Sharring successfull design's.Anyhow Its all been done before.I haven't seen one plug that isn't a copie of a older design (except for some Bad first runs).Lefty Kreh who has come up with many fly patterns has the right idea when he says "Imitation is the greatest form of flattery".If U ever get the Chance to meet Capesams I'm sure U'll agree. Its tough to meet a finer individual. It's just a fishin lure.

Jigman 07-27-2004 07:25 AM

Cool paint on those Capesam :kewl: Can't believe you did that with spray cans  thats some talent.

You're right NIB. I am flattered :thanks:

I really don't know a lot about plugs even though I was a factory rep for both Heddon and Cotton Cordell for several years

justplugit 07-27-2004 01:26 PM

CS,when you do your scales how many coats do you use?
Thanks:)

MAC 07-27-2004 03:48 PM

I really like the 2nd one down:D

capesams 07-27-2004 04:15 PM

after the base color is on[ an well dried] I shake the can to death, then make two squirts in the air to make sure it's all paint that's coming out an not just the carryer,,then in ONE med-fast pass over the screening I let it have it,,,wait one minute if that an take the screen off....if you leave it on to long to dry, you'll find your screening welded to the base coat....repaint.

newlly...signed or not?

No problem at all NIB. I was just voicing my opinion.
