Son of Some Plugs, Return to the Cave!

Every Fall after the fishing is just about over I clean out all my plug bags and my cave and hang everything up for the winter. The plugs hanging are usable stuff. The old stuff is packed in Tubs or hanging upstairs in display boxes. Here is my S.A.C ( Spousal Avoidence Center).

These are the kinds of pics i like to hang onto in case my wife wants to claim that I have a problem.

Nice Pics

Flap,

Question for you: You say that the stuff haning is "usable stuff." I am assuming that means it is stuff that you use in your rotation through the season. With all that "usable stuff" how do you decide what to throw when, how long do you give a plug before you switch? I have a hard time deciding what to plugs to throw now, and I have about 1/8 of your amount of "usable stuff," and you didn't even show bucktails, tins, or rubber...

THANKS

_ZAC_

It's a complicated mix of reasons like where I am going to fish ( like casting plugs from a boat as opposed to shore fishing) what is the bait and what time of year it is. Tonight I will post the rubber and metal section. The pics I took last night came out dark of that stuff. Certain plugs only fish well on certain rods and some fish better out of boats at rips edges than casting into rocks. I would have to sit down with you for a couple hours to explain it all over some cold ones!:D

Picture 5, far right, red darter....who made it, can I get a better shot, I need that one, can I come over?

Flaptail 12-01-2004 09:49 AM

Mike, go to page 52 of the original some plugs thread. I believe I got that one from Charlie Whitney when he had his tackle shop on Race Point road in the basement of his house. It was a couple doors down from where Nelson's is now.

Hurry up Salty I can't wait to see this. :D

Flaptail 12-01-2004 09:50 AM

Mike that was locally made for sure. By who? Who knows.

Flap, I have always enjoyed going to different tackle shops and surfing for equipment online. You have just ruined that for me. From now on, I will just click on this thread and scan your basement for thrills....:D

I am actually interested to see what are in some of those older boxes labled "pikie" and "creek chub." You have quite a collection sir!
