bassmaster 12-13-2004 09:07 PM

may di them to.
you got one of the original protos i thin and the wire hole was back on that one I think. I moved wire foward and play'd with weighting and then beet the #^&#^&#^&#^& out of it on bass and blues,
those ones You see are long like 7 to 8" and they smoke the hell out of a pencil popper and are very easy to work.
I put my time in on these plugs as You know a few years.......

Christian 12-13-2004 09:19 PM

doyle007 12-14-2004 08:15 AM

good show ol' chap. more material for my screensaver.

The Dad Fisherman 12-14-2004 08:55 AM

You know, the best way to show how great a plug catches is to have someone, who is relatively new to the sport, catch on them.

Being a novice myself i will be happy to volunteer my services to help you prove thier fish catching prowess. Just send them to me and i will put fish on them. :D

His reference to pencils seems to  everyone, even you Jigsy... the front loop position and body style should tell you it's more like a zara than a pencil.

K.I.S.S., BM... purdy.:claps:

It's based on a couple years of cut and try. I can vouch for Bassmaster on this one I have seen this one evolve. It's not a pencil and it's not a Zara. It owes it's heritage to a Reverse Atom action. Dave has been working on this a while and it's his design based on a few qualities of different classic plugs. The only thing wrong with posting them is that someone will now rip -off the design and be putting them out in every color and pattern and posting "loookey what I did" without crediting Dave for his year or so of work putting it all together. I have no problem with someone copying someones work but I do have a problem when they do not acknowledge the original builder.;)

Bronko 12-14-2004 01:47 PM

Well said Flaptail, and you can bet somebody is already spinning a prototype.:smash:

Well put Flap.

Credit to Dave for taking an idea and being creative enough  to make it his own.:kewl:

JHABS 12-14-2004 02:39 PM

Yes well said Flaptail, Someone will post one in a day or two :smash:

BigFish 12-14-2004 02:40 PM

I turned a couple hundred this morning!:laughs:

PASurfer 12-14-2004 04:02 PM

Still say the picture looks more like a zara then a pencil OR reverse atom, Flap. :p But I get where you're coming from.

vineyardblues 12-14-2004 04:24 PM

dave the yellow paint is way cool... good luck

show me a pic
what the %$%$%$%$ I work a few years on a plug and now im told what it is.
how quick we forget about plugs and who was doing what and putting time in.
no i didnt invent the wheel im just trying to make the %$%$%$%$ing thing square thats all........

Flaptail 12-14-2004 05:53 PM

It's true now that I just came up from the cave it does resemble an Arbogast Prancer. The Prancer had an external lead tail though. This version, BM's, is slightly thinner now than the ones I saw him test and that Prancer is thin as well. I would chock that up to coincidence.:D

BigFish 12-14-2004 05:54 PM

All the "props" to you BM...you da man!;) You do nice work and you put alot into your plugs.:btu:

flap post a pic? does the plug have a round nose?
you seen that plug i think 32 or 3 years ago so You seen it evolve.
why are there so many %$%$%$%$%$%$%$s out here?

Flaptail 12-14-2004 06:06 PM

Dave, I do not have a pic but I know the Arbogast plug well as I had a couple but they are long gone now. Your plug, by shear coincidence, looks a lot like it but there are disimilarities as well. The eye loop was in the same place and the action was the same as well as the plug dimensions ( lengthxwidth). The Prancer hasn't been made in 25 years at least.:)

Bassman18 12-14-2004 06:08 PM

could this be it? http://www.byronsantiquelures.com/prancer.htm
