Redsoxticket 02-28-2005 05:27 PM

Good deal. I got the stocking foot in January. The people at the store did not even know they were on sale.
I had to enter the code vm36888. Now you can enter tk36888

Nebe 02-28-2005 05:33 PM

In The Surf 02-28-2005 07:33 PM

Anybody familiar with how the bootfoot sizes run?(a little large or a little small) And how is the foot insulated, would you buy them a little larger?

JohnR 02-28-2005 08:49 PM

Don't buy 'em just yet - found them even cheaper!!!!!

Nebe 02-28-2005 08:51 PM

JohnR 02-28-2005 09:12 PM

OK - disregard that... thought I had a "code" that would work.... but sadly no...

Anyone have these? Stocking or bootfoot?

Nebe 02-28-2005 09:23 PM

:smash: I was just about to call and cancel my order

They are great waders John... IMO they are comperable to the orvis silver labels. I got the stocking feet ones, only because I have a love affair with the studded aquastealth wading boots that they sell, but if i didnt have the boots i would have gone with the aquastealth soles..

Roger 02-28-2005 09:26 PM

Eben - thanks,
Just ordered some

Nebe 02-28-2005 09:33 PM

I should get plugs for this... think of all the $$ you guys are saving :hihi:

Redsoxticket 02-28-2005 10:12 PM

John
This sale going on since Jan 3rd or sooner.
I have the stocking foot. The color is solid brown and not the two tone newer models. They discontinued the model that is on sale for the updated ones that cost more. I have them in front of me Is there anything you need to know.

Redsoxticket 02-28-2005 10:21 PM

When these went on sale the employees did not know about it. There were people that went there when this was annonced on another fish forum site and still noone knew about the sale.
Now here is the key. If you had last years catalog you would enter the code of the waders and it would bring you to the page with the sale price. There was no other way to find the sale thru there web site at that time.
I was suprice they had some even then, I wonder if they have any now.

In The Surf 03-01-2005 12:05 AM

I called them around 8 to get some info, but they didn't have my size. :af: Wish I knew about the sale back in January. :(

The sales rep told me the difference between these and the newer ones was the sole design. Last years model sale price $119.95 new model $259.95. If they have your size jump on em'.

Figure it's a pair of these or Simm's for the warranty. Guess I'll just wait a little longer to see what happens. If anyone has a pair of bootfoots still interested in hearing about the fit.

fishaholic18 03-01-2005 12:41 AM

Got mine.
Thanx Eben..

LinesidesontheFly 03-01-2005 05:19 AM

I dont own that particular model. I purchased the cheaper Bean breathables last year. I forget the model but they were around $120.
All I can say is their performance has exceeded my expectations. Since I live about 30 min. south of Beans. I have had the opportunity to put several of their items to use. Either in my hunting or fishing pursuits.
Everything Beans sells is backed by the best warranty in the business. Go check em out. You can't go wrong.

Clogston29 03-01-2005 08:15 AM

Do the boot foot ones have the lace up boots? Can't find a picture of the boot foot sale ones. Thanks.

Roseneath 03-01-2005 01:33 PM

Thanks for the info Eben, I just ordered a pair. These will replace an old pair of Hodgeman, which I was happy with, but its always good to have a back-up or an extra pair when my father visits and at that price - how can you resist?

And, yes, you should get a kickback for all these sales, or at least a commission from LL.

cheferson 03-01-2005 01:49 PM

Thanks Eben, i was returning a pair of their neoprenes that leaked, looks like im going breathable this year:D for short money

Flaptail 03-01-2005 01:57 PM

Eben, are these the ones that the boot foot looks like Bozo the Clown feet? Orvis has some like that, lifetime guarantee.

Redsoxticket 03-01-2005 02:13 PM

The west branch breathable boot foot on the new style waders not the ones on sale are intergrated boot lace according to sales rep..

Clogston29 03-01-2005 02:48 PM

Thanks, They don't have my size left anyway.

lurch 03-02-2005 02:15 AM

thanks for the hookup!!

Just got my king size XXL size 13 waders...I hope they fit!

GrMtstriper 03-02-2005 03:55 PM

Eben,Thank you for the heads up on the waders-I order a pair of stocken foot,I have a pair of simms neo for the spring stocking foot also orvis boot foot.So the wader dept. should be all set.

Nebe 03-02-2005 06:46 PM

your welcome :D

nightfighter 03-04-2005 12:59 PM

Thanks Eben. My pair with stealth boot just arrived! Now for the A-skins top and I be all set! (this was justified by going O-fer at the tfctfn raffle!)

fishaholic18 05-10-2005 04:14 PM

Update: after only about 6 or so outings, mine were leaking at the left stocking foot seam.
The beauty is that I sent them an email and they shipped me another pair within 2 hours of the email....What service, even though they shouldn't have leaked so soon.
Hope the next pair is better.

Redsoxticket 05-10-2005 05:29 PM

Fishaholic18
Did you return the west branch "brown" waders and are they going to replace with the same type, that is to say the "brown" ?
Well as you may know the west branch is now taupe color and if they no longer have your size in brown color then llbean will charge you the difference from the sale purchase price and the price of the taupe color which is about $64.00.
I exchanged mine for a better size and llbean wanted to charge me the difference. I asked them to send back my waders of which I'm OK with the size. I will just wait until they spring a leak if they do.

fishaholic18 05-10-2005 05:35 PM

It says Brown on the order they emailed me.
It also says amount due $0
We'll see I guess.

thats a bummer dave- ive been out in mine about 15 times and have zero complaints....infact these are the best waders I have ever owned.

JoeP 05-11-2005 07:40 AM

I most certainly don't want to bash LL Bean here because I think overall their products are great and their customer service is the best, but last spring I bought a pair of their Gore Tex "Wicked Tough" waders and I am now on my 3rd pair. The first 2 pairs both leaked last year at the wader/neoprene foot seam (the first pair leaked after a few months, and the second basically leaked out of the box).

They replaced both pairs no questions asked via 2-day mail last year. Except for that issue the waders are great, very comfortable, etc. If they leak again I'll just get another pair.

An interesting note is that as of 2003/2004, starting with these "Wicked Tough" waders, LL Bean no longer makes these waders in the USA. They are made overseas. That explained the drop in price from their old Gore Tex waders (the Kevlar ones) to these "Wicked Tough" ones. It probably also explains the leaking problems.

I think only Simms is left of the major wader-companies making waders in the USA.

H'Islander 05-11-2005 09:07 AM

The link failed on me but if these are the West Branch Beathables I bought them on sale some time ago for $129 I think - Boot foot, Felt sole and comfortable - These were an editor's choice item in "On The Water" Magazine.

ragfly 05-11-2005 11:55 AM

How's this for a deal.... My wife works seasonal durng the winter a Beans which means 40% discount of fighing stuff....... The catch the items on sale is you get the lower price...... No problem I just have her buy me some gift certificates at 30% off and I buy them at the $129 sale... So they cost me around $100...... and I get the Bean warantee. :rotf3:

they're still available, just go to their site and go to the sale area or go to the area where the waders are and select the west branch sale waders.

zacs 05-12-2005 01:27 PM

you must have bought the last pair 'cause I don't see 'em in the sale area...

basswipe 05-12-2005 02:11 PM

Cabelas has some waders and wading gear on sale. Most cold weather stuff but
there are a couple kinds of breathables. You can find it in the bargain cave under
men's footwear.
