I didn't say that the stream was BOILING with Herrring. I said there were a FEW. I was there about 10:30 AM this morning and there were 2 small groups of about 5 or 6 fish in each group. One group just below the bridge and one further down before the bend.

UserRemoved1 03-21-2005 05:33 PM

Friday afternoon on this road somewhere on the planet earth I seen a huge seagull blitz , looked like they were eating takeout from the local fish market.

For once will you people be generic. If you want to be an internet hero , then fine let everyone in the world know. This website was not created to pass along specific up to the minute information. It was formed so that people who enjoy this can get together, fish, meet some new people, fish with them at new spots, and learn new techniques. If you want to let your buddies know exact locations, call them on the phone, send them a pm, or send them an email. From now on anything with spot specific info will be deleted by me, as soon as I catch it. A copy will be saved for John, and if he wants to put it back up he will, but I would not count on it.

thefishingfreak 03-21-2005 09:58 PM

someone should make this a sticky

here we go....WOO HOO!!

I am reading AND posting so I dont get tagged as a lurker :)

I was supposed to get to RI this winter when no one was around to check out spots but was unable to :(

Maybe an early spring trip will help narrow down some areas when the girls come home.

spence 03-22-2005 09:02 AM

The first spot burning thread of the season...

IT MUST BE SPRING !!! :bounce:

Everyone on the Planet Earth know about the (*&*(^*&^*( run is.
the burning of a spot doesnt really have anything to do with catching fish whether it be 6 inches of water of 6 fathoms, its about placing "extra" (as in more than usual) pressue on a location.

Paul - This response from people is not directed at you specifically so don't get wound up on it. It's a classic tug of spot information warfare :hee: . Personally, I think there is WAY too much emphasis on spots from too many different sources, here included. Bait Shops trying to get the last dollar on their Fisherman Mag ads, Charters blabbing away, various online and print media - it's tooooo much. I just don't want to see this site as mainstream of pressure on "spots".

You have been fishing hard for a long time, right? How did you learn spots - betcha went out and learned them. Learned what made them tick. Learned from others close and not so close, in your circle and not. Met and fished with people in a club. Made many solo nighttime journeys. When you walked into Joe's Bait and he winked and said they blitzed beach X last night, 20 people might have heard. Now, Joe's Bait goes onto the Fisherman and says Joe, Tom, and Tony hammered fish to 30 pounds on Plug"Y" at Beach X and 500 people think about heading there.

I think it is about balance, and there is no balance in media today about spots. It's park here, walk there, and cast up over yonder. Yeh, I've been guilty of it too but I just can't see how spots can be sustainable over the long term....

OK - enough rambling on my part

ProfessorM 03-22-2005 10:32 AM

Sorry if anyone offended in me mentioning the specific run I did. Thought the location was common knowledge being the largest run in state. I agree with your concern. From now on mum's :faga: the word. Paul
