Clammer 08-31-2005 10:28 AM

As you can see -it wasn,t setup to tow // that,s a 63 split window // the prime is because I took it in the sand dunes at Horseneck / ripped the Dual exhaust off & wedge pieces of it & some rocks in the wheel wells & they shattered .......never ever got a speeding ticket with that car ......... just with every other one I,ve owned :wall:

I don,t have pictures of this /but shortly after we were married my wife had a OPEL & I towed the boat with that little stick 4 cylinder/// WeLl I,m hauling out one evening a descent steep ramp / I get behind the wheel /gas the S hit out of it /in order to pull out & still get up the ramp / well I,m going up & ya have to go left to the parking area /// WTF 60 feet from the ramp is this A/O tieing down this rig // I can,t stop to I swerve to the left of him ---in doing sooooooooooooo I hit ^ mount this high curb // well ya gotta know =============== I flip the f #$%^&* boat right off the F @#$%^&* trailer / the boat actually flips /not slides off the trailer && it comes down on his open F #$%^&* drivers door // snapped it off the car at the hinges/ clean as a hell // F#$%^&*( guy was speechless / I got out of the car picked up the F #$%^&* door & threw it in his back seat // then proceeded to get a couple of on lookers to help me take off the motor & all the S#$%^/ get the boat back on the trailer /mounted the motor // turn the key & it fired / all I had was a snapped rod from the anchor falling on it ..
the guy in the F #$%^&* car I heard from once & when he called a second time I was in basic training /& when he found that out he told my wife to forget about it // never heard from him again //also never saw him at that ramp again....

What he said :D

that story, lmao... 63 spilt back coupe in primer as tow vehicle :kewl:

when I was 18 I worked for a guy driving dump truck for about 6 months, he had one with a 454 in it, we used it to haul jerry cans of diesel to the job site for the bull dozer... it was mint when he bought it, real clean... that lasted till the first coffee run :hihi:

nightfighter 09-01-2005 09:23 PM

Classic Mike , you and some of the other longtimers better be putting this chit down on paper with these pics and publish them. Honestly, reading these stories of days gone by would get me through the winters, and these stories need to be passed along. It would sell in the shops I think.
Oh that '63 split roof coupe....A buddy had me trick out (bastardize) his, added wider fibreglass fenders, hood work, ribbon paint job...His burned on the side of a highway, something about a missing hoseclamp on the fuel line......

Raven 09-01-2005 09:42 PM

Lets see what that line has been thru our past few times out.
30+ pound fish hung in rocks.
Wrapped badly under your reel spool around the shaft, twice.
Wrapped several times around the prop.
Good fish on wrapped on lobster pot in the rocks.
That's all I can think of right now. :rtfm:

Clammer 09-12-2005 07:24 AM

Nib yep but if it was taken now .the backdrop would be all [[parking]] & then boats.mostly the smaller of the lobster fleet..

Dave there,s more /but why bother ???????????????????

Swimmer 09-12-2005 11:38 AM

1963 split windown vette

Before I paged down I knew what year that was. My buddy has one now that he has owned since 68 or 70. Parked it in his garage and took 15 to 18 years restoring it. He use to be employed in a shop that specialized in vettes so you can well imagine how nice the frame up restoration went.

Took it on the beach at horse neck. I used to go to a freakie little surf shop down there in the sixties. Same guy had the surf report on every morning on the radio. I think he buls&%^ted everyone because there was never any waves. Wish I was there the day you did your sand dune ride.

Clammer 09-12-2005 03:47 PM

Im gonna LOOK FOR THe PHOTO before I ripped the duals off :lurk:
