Long Shot- Trade Me Beachmaster Dannies?

Wondering if anyone out there has a few to spare. I know it's unlikely but I gotta try. The best I can offer in trade is some R.M. Smith 2 Oz. Swimmers.

P.M. if you're interested.

saltwater edge will be getting some soon for summer....maybe PeteG can confirm this.

luds 04-21-2006 08:29 PM

I was counting on that but then heard otherwise. Hope you're right.

luds 04-21-2006 09:26 PM

I just got outbid on e-bay for one in yellow. same guy always paying top dollar. must be nice. :lossinit:

spence 04-21-2006 09:30 PM

35 bucks !!! :hs: :whackin: :smash:

I've got a nice yellow over white BM danny with silver sides...the older style w/o eyes...

It's got a few hook marks but I'd gladly sell it for 35 bucks :)

Whats his $Bay name? and how much did it go for?

luds 04-22-2006 12:32 PM

Went for $37. I bid $35 so I really shouldn't complain. I'm glad I lost because paying that much money for a danny is pretty ridiculous. The winners name was tautog#? I rarely bid on stuff but I've noticed that in just about every auction I participate in he wins and almost always pays way more than I would even consider. He's a talented sniper.

spence 04-22-2006 01:08 PM

Dude, 37 bucks for a Beachmaster Danny isn't sniping :hs:

I thought sniping was bidding in the last seconds of an auction. Are you only a sniper if you get get something on the cheap? I think I need some e-bay education.

spence 04-22-2006 02:13 PM

Well, I'd say sniping is the last second bid so you can score a better deal.

It's the only way I bid :hee:

To me 37 bucks is a heck of a lot to pay for a danny you plan to fish. Beachmaster makes nice plugs but they ain't that special...

it's also the only way I should bid. I never remember to log on when the auctions are closing.

totally agree about the 37 buck. if a bass hung that plug in the rocks I'd be bummin:poke: and beachmasters are definately made for fishin not hanging.

Nope---just Atom Jrs and needlefish. And since he's having his spring yard sale this weekend, he probably won't even have those very long.

Sea Dangles 04-22-2006 06:13 PM

Atom jr. is a plug my brother used with mucho success last year.A nice looker for sure!

Google auction sniper, there are a lot of bots that do it for you. Just figure it what you would pay for it, enter the price and it bids in the last 5 seconds or so. Keeps you from running up the price when you are caught up in auction frenzy. It works.

I may have a yellow/pearl in the 2 oz. size. What color R.M Smith's do you have?

now we're talking. that's exactly what i'm looking for. bunker, yellow scale, or herring in the r .m. smith 2 oz. fi you prefer the 1 oz. I also have a chartreuse or a bunker.

DM66 04-23-2006 05:45 PM

Is it Yellow/White scale?

luds 04-23-2006 06:01 PM

yup. it has a yellow scale back with a cream white belly that has very faint scales. Also black shading around the eyes.

It's one of the nicer plugs I have but I have two. I have zero yellow/white BM dannies

choggieman 04-23-2006 06:30 PM

luds- I may be your man. Gonna look in the cave and see what I have for 2 oz. I know I have a few.

cool. shoot me a pm when ya got it.

Spiderman 04-25-2006 08:39 AM

danny

Fishing freak,
I would hold on to that one. It is a rare beachmaster 9" surface swimmer unlike the beachmaster large danny. As far as I know they only made them once and there are very few around.

Luds48,
Let me know if the the deal falls through I can make a trade.

thefishingfreak 04-25-2006 09:15 AM

nib is gunna trash it on bloofish :hee:

Uh-uh. I let a few of the small Darters go early to extremely regular customers and I'm enjoying plenty of grief just for that. Never again.

No reservations or early buyers under any circumstance for the Dannys. :hihi:

I am probably going to release them simultaneously on the web (if we get enough) and in the store on a Saturday at 9am. Earl will be at the register, someone will handle the phones, and the Ironman and I will be ready to deal with any unruly customers. Depending on the quantity we receive there will be a cap as to how many anyone can buy to make sure more people get a crack at them. I'll make the announcement of their arrival a few days prior.

This all reminds me of back in the day of the infamous fly-tying "bucktail brawls" at the fly fishing shows as well as the early days of the wooden plug boom where people would be clicking away relentlessly on the website waiting for the moment the plugs went public. Trying to distribute Beachmaster Dannys fairly and safely is like trying to distribute food in a starving 3rd world country.

libassboy 04-25-2006 07:32 PM

When i read that earlier i knew you wouldnt let neone reserve them, u can bet i was thinking about how long the drive would be there tho...:boots:

luds 04-30-2006 09:15 AM

Great response! I got a nice handful of Beachmaster Dannies to add to my formerly small stash.

I'm still looking another of the elusive white w/ pink sides. Also would be up for blue cloud or any other variation of white.
