Weekend Results?

Surprising lack of pictures and all things fishy...

Anyone have any luck this weekend?

I went out twice, only saw about 6 bass landed, and the largest was only 22"

Got my fill of bluefish annihalating my eels (and surfhogs - bloo's loooove surfhogs).... and we got one monster sea robin..

outside of that - nothing...

just another bad weekend?

JohnR 07-05-2006 09:13 AM

There were some - but no pictures ;)

likwid 07-05-2006 09:14 AM

sunday morning was the right time.

MotoXcowboy 07-05-2006 09:30 AM

yesterdays sunset bluefish saved me from being skunked 3 out of 3 outings since Thursday. I fished from sunset into darkness, from the upper bay but mostly in soco spots. Threw sluggos and needles at night..moved around to alot of places.. didnt see others catching either..big crowds out there during the day too :spin:

Equipment malfunction Friday night set the tone for me. Going at it again this Friday.

partsjay 07-05-2006 06:11 PM

Very, very slow for me.....fished alot..different spots...different tides..had some perfect eels...nothing caught worth bragging about.

BigBo 07-05-2006 06:19 PM

Got my 5 year old grandson his first Striper ever!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
It was a monster! All of 7 lbs! To him it was the biggest fish in the world. He's still talking about it and asking when we're fishing again. One of the best days of fishing I've ever had.

jmonte45 07-05-2006 06:43 PM

Fished everyday this weekend, 2 fish under 25" to show for it. I fished eels, sluggos, poppers, metals, etc..........was beginning to think it was me.

tattoobob 07-05-2006 06:54 PM

If you count dog fish hitting eels I got one fish :pop: :pop: :pop:

RIROCKHOUND 07-05-2006 07:07 PM

striperman36 07-05-2006 07:12 PM

Water is too warm 65 - 70.
No bait, no fish.

Fuke, fluke, fluke and dogs. No seabass even

libassboy 07-05-2006 07:17 PM

Got some bass on my last Eben eel.....need more :hee:

Slipknot 07-05-2006 09:17 PM

I had a good day Friday fishing with my dad, had fun Sat. on Big Cliff pond trying for some fresh water fish with my son, then my son and I had a great day Monday chasing stripers on the boat again. But Monday night on the very first cast on one of the only outer beaches that you can still drive on, I broke my favorite rod :( a pacbay 1207, the rod snapped in 2 between the 2nd and third guide, shattered it  I was attempting to toss a 2-1/4 oz howdy so maybe the blank got knicked or something. There was no fish there anyway :rollem: Then unpacking the truck yesterday I broke another rod, a 7' tica I just recently bought :wall: :hs:

Good for you Bigbo :btu: and great for your grandkid!

BigBo 07-05-2006 10:08 PM

Thanks Slip. The boy is gonna be hooked for life.:bgi:

staltershoal 07-05-2006 10:12 PM

:wall: ok maybe i dont feel so bad then. i couldnet even catch a bluefish in the spot that always produces blues..... i almost wanted to sell all my gear yesterday..... that fish repellant i bought is really paying off :wall:

The Rockhound is the absolute best in the boat. First cast, first drift, he hangs an upper 20# bass. Real beautiful fish, released to fight another day.

Zzzzzzzzz

Things have absolutely died here on the N. shore as well. Have not had a keeper sized fish since Thursday and experienced my first skunkings since early May! Agree that the water has warmed significantly and the fish have gotten lethargic (sp?). Perhaps the Full moon next week will wake them up a bit.

Then decided to head south and fish the flatts at Wellfleet and Brewster and head home along the shore. Another pic....

ProfessorM 07-06-2006 09:15 AM

I got lucky out front, three times even, and saw plenty in shore.

damn this doesn't sound good Spinn, managed one 24 inch fish yesterday up your way off the rocks. I was throwing sluggos and swimmers and with things so slow I was wishing I had eels, then some guys showed up next to me and started thowing eels and didn't get anything either so that answered by question.

RIJIMMY 07-06-2006 10:45 AM

Time to get over it, a new weekend begins tomorrow!

Rappin Mikey 07-06-2006 10:45 AM

Got into some nice fish from the shore on July 4th am at an undisclosed CC Beach. Fish from 15-20#s on every cast. If you could get them past the seals. If you have a friend throw rocks at the seals when they have the fish they sometimes drop it. I wish I had my camera because I landed 2 heads up to about 10#s after the seals got through with them. Hey , I got my plug back, but I spent about half of the time the fish were hitting wrestling with the seals. It was very frustrating, but still fun anyway.

Waquoit bay

Hi,

I keep my boat in Waquoit and Sat and Sun were miserable. Winds had to be 30-35. This time of year just outside the jetties is usually great, but the water was so rough I didn't even try with a boat. Looked like 3-4' seas. I fished a little from the jetties but got nothing. The only saving grace was that the clamming was great. On Monday, the nice day, I had to work on my deck for fireworks that night. Can't wait for this weekend. It sounds like a good one!

john

ProfessorM 07-06-2006 11:18 AM

John I initially went to go out of Waquoit Mon. morning for fluke and when I got to the ramp in Mashpee there were new signs up that says residents only Memorial day to Labor day. Tried another that goes into Pomponesset and same sign. WTF. Both ramps were deserted too. That sux's. Paul

Holy Deja-Vu!!!
I only landed one head, but, that was my experience too.
I was thankfull to get the plug back, but.. I'd kinda like the striper too.
Notice how they watch you cast now, they watch for the fish to strike, then they make their attack...

thanks Matt

good job Mikey and Karl trying to not feed those searats.

partsjay 07-06-2006 01:44 PM

Nice fish Slip!!

Bass Babe 07-06-2006 02:30 PM

Man, I thought that I had just lost my mojo, but here's everyone else complaining about the catch shortage. Now I don't feel so bad. No keepers yet this season, and I couldn't even catch a scup last weekend.

Rappin Mikey 07-07-2006 06:48 AM

Karl I agree. I think the seals know who is catching and who is not. They always seem to camp out in front of people who are hooking up. I hate them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They robbed me of a banner day that morning.
