On a recent trip to the island I saw this graffiti memorial in New Bedford. I feel it also captures the spirit of a successful surfcasting trip to Cuttyhunk.
I was there this weekend. I'm on a business trip and don't have a way to get my camera pics on here, but I have a pic of two plugs that look like they fell in the garbage disposal - all from bass.
Bonanza is about right. Ever stop fishing cause you were to tired to pump and reel? All big too. Thanks especially to Steve VS and JFig for helpful tips. I got to meet DJ Muller and crew on the last day - great guys; hope you did well. I don't know if the guy I fished with is on here, I suspect not, but if you are #^^^^&, it was great meeting you and your son. -Ty |
Two friends of Steve and I were there this past weekend and caught 80 fish in two nights the best part was they said almost half were 25 to 40lbs !! it will only be better this weekend with the New moon...I have not been this "jacked up" in a long time for a trip...I cant wait, feel like a little kid on Xmas morning.......My waders will be on before I get off the boat!
Have fun Bill

Thanks for making me only feel better about not being there ... AH and BigFish should be coming back on Friday from a few days out there, hope they had a successful trip too.
Ive never been to Cutty, been all over these states and some countries but missed that place.
Looks like it on a must do... If anyone goes and wouldnt mind a Jerzey Guy tagging along, Im might even be able to get away for a long weekend this year, if the stars and moon allow. Good Luck Guys Joe I might be able to return the favor in the late spring in my waters if NIB  allows you into our state:jump: |
Leaving 4 hrs, I better get packing
Not good at all........I may stay right here.......

There is indeed some valid reason to be concerned about the conditions this weekend. The combination of an offshore storm, with resultant swells, and new moon tides, often results in a lot of weed and debris being churned up along the Elizabeth Islands. Such was the case today. A friend out this am found things too weedy by the time he got to Robinson's (in spite of a hard offshore wind) and didn't think it worth going further down the islands. On the other hand, seems that it is often better to go and cope, than sit and hope.
