any hardcores left???
went out sat night (last night) weather was nice, plus heard a last weekend report. results.... a dink and one missed surprise hit on a retrieve.. just wondering ??? Am i the only one that hasn't hung it up???
No. I fished yesterday, but from a boat along the Elizabeths. There are still fish out there (the guy with me caught five to my none), though not widespread and not big. The water was 51-52 degrees.
I'm still chugging away. I just can't bring myself to put a close on my season yet.
Friday, the reels came off the rods. I'm done.for now. If I was a little further South, I'd still be in.
Hope to be in it till mid Jan. :)
do it as long as i can stand it (and there are fish ):rollem:
im still having at it :kewl:
1 dink yesterday also. Lots of Gannets about a half mile off shore.
17lb and 12lb last night. I'm still at it but not on an everynight basis.
Fished hard and long 7 straight nights on Block a week back - finished my season with a good taste. Released my eels, now spending time with the family. I still get pangs to get out but i guess I'm old enough to ignore them.

Good to hear.. |
Well... any week spent on- Block in Nov. is a great week! But doing so with DZ is like living history! (& Tattoo Bob is a fishing machine too!). And no "Snowstorm" to worry about, even-- was Sept.- like weather! (OK, admittedly no "Blitz" either this trip!) :usd: --(quite contrary to a certain report I read on another site!)... Dennis, thank you again for the opportunity! If ever you & Al need a guide at M.?...
Guess I qualify as hard- core though, as I'm still going strong on L.I. Looking forward to re- uniting with our Block Bass at M. this week, actually! (Esp. the biggies that rose to/ rushed my Needles in rough daytime water, without ever connecting! :uhuh: ) |
Fished this morning, bunch of schoolies SoCo. Suppose to be nice tomorrow, probably head to water, sure beats work.
I've been having decent luck,i won't hang it up till mid december :musc:

Nice to have met two hardcore casters like you and Bob. I think you spent more time casting then back at the condo. You definitly payed your dues. So did Bob. We had our moments on that trip. There were some nice fish going after those Beachmaster needles. The eels proved the biggies were around. A little less surf and the needles would have produced where you were. Hope to fish with you guys again someday. Hope you liked the reading material. Stay in touch. DZ |
Nice pics Mike.
I'll be moving to NJ tomorrow for a month, then to Florida on Dec 28 till the end of March - possibly permanent.. oh yeah.. ill be fishin' :soon: Clammer, Ill be sure to take care of those winter bloos for ya :hihi: :gorez: |

Went Friday ad Sunday to the Canal... Got nothing.. |
Gotta know when to hold em....and when to fold em! Not worth the effort up here!
I'm done, gear cleaned and put away until April.....Time for hockey
Ice |
Hardly any action up here - not worth the cold anymore! Everything got stored over the weekend.
I'll be at it for awhile.... The missus got her first keeper yesterday she was pretty psyched. She lipped it and handled her own fish and everything, she was pretty psyched. Fat little thing it was, we had action for a little over 3 hours micros, shad and keeper sized bass mixed in, they were chasing peanuts. I'd say the line of peanuts was about a half mile long, and they were about 12-15 feet off the sand. Ended up being a pretty cool sunday drive. They were feeding subsurface most of the time, but the purple blob of bait was unmistakable. The funny part was following them down the beach and watching guys pack up their stuff, as we made our way towards them. Candi Bobby and I had the fish to ourselves, at one point one guy drove up, and I signaled for him to stop and I pointed to the drop off, and he was throwing some bigger stuff, he switched to a small shad and started getting bass, and shad. All in all not a bad day for the end of November.
I got to hear about how easy it was all the way home.. And how oh I think I need my own rod, like this one 1201m but I want electric blue thread.. and you thin They'll be there next weekend.. and how do I fillet it... and you think we can try again next weekend.. and ohhh I gotta call my dad (big hunter) and tell him he'll be psyched.. I think I broke her... |
