According to this months OTW which arrived today , we are in second by 2.52 points, Team Jersey Shore has First. Next closest is 25 points back

yeah the magazine is not as up to date as the website, you guys got this thing!! some incredible fish up there this year, you guys are some damn good fisherman
by the way, my new PB fish that I got a couple of weeks ago was good enought for a weekly winner in the shore category!! I am beyond pyched..I lucked out on that one..all you guys must have taken the week off or something...

This months magazine had way more points than the website, when I checked it yesterday. I would have to say the mag is right and the website has not been updated yet.

How many points did the maggie have -v- the site?

sometimes the cookies thing (don't know much about computers) keeps you from seeing the up to date standings on line. that may be the issue. the website should always be ahead of the mag.

The website has fish weighed in as recently as 9/12. I imagine that the magazine is not that up to date.

The mag has Jersey at 497.36, and us at 494.84

We were at 532 and change the last time I looked at the standings--without Jim's last fish. NJ was second at 497. Not a boat fish in the 20. Ray Jobin's group was third with all boat fish.

They have to tweak the shore handicap next year to make it a little more even and fair. 30% is too much of a bonus.

Some day when I have some time, after they post the final results, I'll see how it would have shaken out with a 1.15 bonus factor instead of a 1.3.

The best solution is separate shore/boat club divisions. Big enough clubs could enter a team in both at the start.

Just checked the website, the point are different than they were on my home comp, cookies are the culprit.

I think a 1.25 multiplier is fair - maybe 1.2

There will be many years where the boat guys trounce the shore guys and 1.4 wouldn't make a difference. It will be unpredictable year by year.

still not official, but unless there are a whole lot of fish that haven't post yet, we won.

kind of annoying that its taking so long. I'm sweating out a weekly and possible monthly in September and really just want to know. I'm getting sick of checking their site all the time.

Not for nothing but they are probably building the suspense by not posting it. Makes for a better Striperfest next weekend when there are still questions in the air as to the outcome.

Last year they gave plaques to the top 5 teams, besides the club trophy.

there really is no fair multiplier. the only way to do it, if people want to take it seriously, is to separate it. The other is to just accept it as fun and not worry about it. if you compare the number of 50s taken from the boats vs the number from the surf the 1.3 factor starts to look fair. I think that there was only 1 surf fish over 50 and only 4 surf fish over 44 lbs. The fact that we had 3 of those is why we won. If one boat team had 3 or the 4 largest boat fish, they probably would have won. Without those three fish it would have been close. It would have easily gone the other way if a couple guys on the same team stumbled onto a school of large from a boat that hung around long enough and then the surf guys would be saying the factor wasn't good enough. having the multiplier basically adds more luck to the equation every year because some years the factor will sway the results towards boat or surf.

So if we are all there I would think that the top 10 get in the picture right? Congrats to the guys who went large. It will be a great time.
