Your Best Fishing Moment In 07'!

What was it?? Could be your best catch, biggest fish, most fun trip out, funniest thing that happened this season......anything! Lets see some pics if you got em'!:kewl:

flyben24 12-22-2007 08:07 PM

It would definitly be the day that me, my buddy, and my dad went bait fishing off MV and caught over forty 20+# fish for hours. One of the best fishing days in my life.:musc:

Gunpowder 12-22-2007 08:22 PM

thanks for not inviting me out that day benny :bshake::bshake::bshake:

luds 12-22-2007 08:28 PM

Catching 35# fish while standing in the wash in mid sept.? Me on a 2 oz. white hab's.....Clogston on a herring atom jr. There were better nights and bigger fish but for some reason that last flurry that night was alot of fun.

afterhours 12-22-2007 08:33 PM

best moment would have to be that sunset in sept on cutty, 39# on a pencil. great trip, great friends.....larry, fish taco, #^&#^&#^&#^&ie from ri, and a couple i've forgotten (crs).... :D

johnny ducketts 12-22-2007 08:34 PM

My best day would be when I went 4/5 on my first false albacore, man they are a blast to catch.

BMEUPSCOTTY 12-22-2007 08:37 PM

Standing in pea soup fog in the dark out on chappy during the derby, 30 feet between shoulders, headlights running from and back to the water all down the beach. Thanks again to the bossman and the basic one. I love the vineyard!:jump:

This fish, that ate a yellow Gibbs pencil for the unluckiest of my kids, made for the best moment of my year.

Also spending every weekend in September and October on PLum Island

Mine was......probably......the night I was fishing with Slingah and Joey G. local! They were slaying on eels for a couple hours side by side while I was laying them to waste on my "Prey" swimmers! They were catching them bigger than me but I can guarantee I was having more fun!!! Best part of my 07' was the results from that plug! She shines!:bgi: Slingah....you?

Don.....very satisfying for me seeing you catch that fish....as jealous as I was I was even more happy for you! I know what it meant to you....mine will come in time!:)

Slingah 12-22-2007 10:30 PM

same nite....:hihi:

35" Bluefish on a spook.

40" Striper from the kayak. (pb)

american spirit 12-22-2007 10:57 PM

trying to haul my first 40 out to the truck. i was holding her head at the height of mine. during the walk back i could feel the tail slapping against my calves. sweet! my adrenaline was going too strong for me to realize exactly what was happening during the actual fight.

Slipknot 12-22-2007 11:06 PM

Fishing in my skiff one day back in June with Danny, we got them pretty good for a while and Dan wanted to go so I said ok one more fish, so I slap on a handcarved flat sided plug for RM Smith from a swap that has an unbelievable paintjob on it. First cast it gets a hit in 20 feet of water, next cast 25 pound bass :D
not my biggest fish of the year but my most memorable.

MikeToole 12-23-2007 10:48 AM

A snotty night in September with an on shore wind and rain after a after a really rough day. Caught a bunch of fish in the 24" range keeping it interesting when I hooked up with a nice one. 15 minutes later it rubbed the plug off on a rock and was gone. Ended up with a destroyed plug and a bad day put behind me.

ProfessorM 12-23-2007 10:53 AM

All alone on a weekday in my tin boat on bright summer day in 3 feet of water and 100's of fish all around and tossing unweighted sluggo's to the fish I would pick out of the crowd and watching the fish chase down and eat the bait. One after another.

Swimmer 12-23-2007 11:39 AM

Not to be a smart-.ss, but the seal hookup was mine. I have never seen a heavy rod bend like that ever. Thought I had a world record stripa on da hook.

chris L 12-23-2007 12:55 PM

luds, that was a good night. luckily it died when it did, before the dawn patrol arrived

best night, first night that luds and I got into fish. expectations were low and the night turned out great. got my first 3 40s. tough to beat that.

most memorable fish was this one. not because its the biggest, but because john was really excited about the picture and we went back and forth quite a bit about the plug through e-mails before he passed.

Watching my girl hook and land four huge blues all on her own.She had a blast!

striper97 12-23-2007 06:42 PM

Third week in october just outside mouth of the merrimack--school of sandeels 1/2 a mile long with blues underneath. 4 hours of nonstop large blues, fish were still biting when me and my buddy threw in the towel because our shoulders were aching, good way to end the season.

keeperreaper 12-23-2007 06:56 PM

1. Watching my daughter catch her first saltwater fish a snapper blue was the best moment of the year. It beat the 52 pound striper. It beat 15 tuna in one trip. It even beat the monster marlin in the canyon and even the sailfish down in Aruba. She is my favorite fishing partner.

tynan19 12-23-2007 07:16 PM

My favorite moment had to be when I was watching the wife and kid battle bluefish at the same time. I couldn't fish because I had to keep releasing theirs.

InTheHole 12-24-2007 09:36 AM

2 favorite moments, the look on my 11 year old son's face when I brought his 39" bass over the rail, and watching my 7 year old fight a 10# tautog. It doesn't get any better that that

Van 12-24-2007 12:15 PM

Taking my son out (19) who does not come out too often, and putting him on a 30+ pounder in front of everyone else that got NADA.

Then he slips her back in the water and we watch all their jaws drop !!!

Great day.

Bazza 12-24-2007 02:18 PM

A few outings that stand out forme:
One of my first outings with a new kayak and getting some good size blues on top water. Catching my albie first was also a highlight

Watching my daughter(she is 8): Catching some good size large mouth bass, another time she was landing doubles while scup fishing

baldwin 12-24-2007 03:13 PM

Getting my ten year old son and eight year old daughter into blues in the surf!

Flaptail 12-24-2007 03:30 PM

Best and worst moment at the same time. Being in acres and acres of porpoising
albies and not being able to put one in the boat.

Memorable moment and a schoolie-- In the middle of the summer I took the family to Watch Hill for some shopping and some beach. At about 3:30, I was getting bored at the beach watching 500 people lying around. So I went back to the car to get a rod to practice retreiving my then new custom super strike bullet in the bunker pattern I got from Joe Lyons. I go about 30 yards from the crowd of swimmers and on the third cast I catch a schoolie. Well you would have thought I caught a sea monster.

My kids and around 50 other kids come running over like a stampede and want to look at the schoolie. Then my wife actually comes over and sees that I do in fact have the ability to catch a striper- which she had some doubt. Well it was my 5 minutes of fame during a hot afternoon at a crowded beach until I let him swim away. It was a happy family moment.
