That would be great larry , thanks :D
I was wondering myself if anyone wants to bring a lathe i can bring some wood and my chisels and also bring some tying stuff and tie tailhooks If Clammer comes he can entertain us all ;) |
So it shall be done! I will do a little air brush demo!:uhuh:
|
IIRC, someone said they'd do a tail loop demo. That would be a huge help. Also, I'd love to get some pointers on through drilling.

No Lathe?
That would be a first... I was looking forward to another off-set turning demo :buds: |
If you want a comedy routine, I'm bring my first plugs with me :)
|
If there is going to be a lathe and turning demo, I have some demo carbide skews and gouges for you guys to try, if there is a desire.:read:
|
I'd like to volunteer eddie, stripercrazy to show everyone the swirl paint method he uses.
Eddie call me and let me know what colors you'll need and I'll pick them up during the week. |
I'll bring the fly vise as I built one a while back and have never used it yet.
|
I'll bring my tying stuff I can show how to tie dressed tails :bounce:
|
I will bring a vice and some materials for these little unique hair/blend bonito flies with softex that just crush bones, albies and are VERY durable for blues.

Cool ed let me know if you need a hand with the paints etc. Would it be a good idea to have folks bring a primed blank or two of their own for this? So they can get a real hands on? Ed I figure we can setup like 2 - 3 buckets / stations to do this at. Does that work for you?
|
Great! I have a primed blank or two! Salty, I looking forward to you remedial tail loop class. Mine are every shape but round.

Bruce, I can bring my lathe if you still need one. Its a benchtop model so we'd need to have a table to set it on... |
Thanks Dave
if it isn't a hassle, bring it as a backup but I think MikeCC is bringing one too and if it doesn't rain I will be able to get mine there too. |
If I'v got some peanut bunker hand carves cut out, I maybe could do a foil finish demo is there is interest...

And Rockfish, the foil finish is cool, I have been messing with it and I have a hard time with it. It will be good to see someone else do it, maybe I'll learn a few tricks... |
that would be sweet!!

Guys,
question for all of you. If I make it to plugfest, I was thinking of bringing one of my cameras(the video type) and possibly filming some of the demonstrations and possibly, if you guys and John R. are cool with it. create a link on the site with "how to" videos. -Chris |
Sorry Wahlie....I don't think I would like that much. Feel free to tape others though.:cheers2:
|
Somebody post this stuff on Youtube, I haveta go to FL for vacation and can't attend.
|
QUESTION on the DEMOS:doh: so I DON'T MISS ANY do you guys have TIMES when EACH will taken place.
GOOD LUCK GOOD PLUGGIN |
Not a problem bigfish. Just figured I'd throw it out to the group and that it could be a great addition to the plug building Faq's.:banano:
|
Saltydog...its a very informal, unstructured event. It just kind of happens so you gotta be there when it starts!:hihi:

it's pretty laid back Whalie, you could film my hands making a tail-loop on a plug or whatever. |
