Splashed The New Wetsuit Tonight!
 

Took my new suit for a swim......and it was incredible!! Barely even knew I was standing in the water! I did not find it restrictive at all....quite the contrary, very comfortable! Went to a spot that is easy access for my first time out.....just wanted to have an easy first outing so I could get the feel of it! Fishing was great too! Got a couple shorts, a 30 incher......and then this 25-28 pounder!! Great way to start my fall season and my wetsuit fishing! Absolutely "CruShED" this Danny!:drool: It felt damn good! I think I am gonna like this wet suit!:uhuh: Felt great to let her swim away!

Pretty sweet for the test run of the new wetsuit Larry. Good for you. :wave:

You and me both. I started playing around with the wetsuit last fall and it just opens up a whole new world, and it you start to realize the need for such equipment.

just don't float off the Cutty rocks :bl: it's a long way to Block

Watch out for the stranding network they will keep trying to drag you into the water.

Nice catch Larry. My wetsuit order is pending as I've sat on the sidelines too long while my buddy is bailing large.
I'm waiting to hear how Numbskull makes out too....

So tell us all here at S-B, did you pee in it or not?

My econoscale is working well so far and was less than 25 bucks

I'm lookling at the entire package cost too. It includes a VS 200 and some diving gear such as a knife, waterproof pouch and korker boots. Grand total is well over $1,000 at my latest estimate just to convert from wading to swimming. Had bad luck with my first VS, so I'm a bit tentative making another purchase from VS, but will likely do it this winter.

Definitely go for the VS :kewl:, or spend a little more for the ZB :drool:. It's great having a reel you can dunk without a second thought. As for the Boga, it'd be nice to have one with you all the time, but it's not exactly light or compact. How many fish are you going to weigh with it before you can guesstimate one just by looking at it?

I sure did!! Are you kidding me...thats one of the best selling points! It sucks taking all your gear off with waders to take a leak!!! No more of that!!:tooth:

The issue is handling fish thigh deep in water with the shore neck deep away and a bunch of 4/0 VMC trebles swinging around in the dark while you don't want to use your light. Big ones are tired enough to grab, but a bluefish or 6lb bass is a pain. Not an issue for the eel guys.

Now you can go where Flap goes George and not be over your waders.

If you are just using it as a fish releasing tool, there's no need to spend the $120-$250 for a lipper .

Not sure whether I've ever shared this with you, but one of the reasons I only plug when absolutely necessary is my fear of trebles. Big, small, stainless, rusted, you name it.....I quiver around them three pronged tools of the devil. :devil:

I only chide you over plugs because I don't know how else to manage my fear. Coming clean actually feels pretty good. I'm a %$%$%$%$ing chicken....aaaaaaaaaaahhh.

This wetsuit thing though, it should be interesting.

I'm surprised your pool is still open. Must be getting cold down there, no?

Pool? Hell no. It is being seen (and mirrors) I fear. Stuffing that potato down the suit is uncomfortable, too. By the way, is it supposed to go in the front or the back?

Two large ones at chest level in front would be perfect for you.

Crush the barbs. It's inevitable your going to get hooked or slashed. At my height I wade deeper than most and am always unhooking fish in the dark at waist deep or deeper still.

Pain is temporary, pride is forever. Plug fishing at night while wading 50 yards from shore is not for the feint of heart.

Its amazing how relaxed not having to worry about waders a wetsuit makes you! I also felt alot more confident out there!:uhuh:

Question for you wetsuiters if ya don't mind.While wearing that thing are your feet staying wet the whole time ? One of the only drawbacks I can see at this point is wet swamp foot unless there's a dry boot/dry sock worn I can't see having wet feet for hours at a time.

Wondered that too ... also Larry ,, Did you change out in the street or drive home in it ?
