Budweiser/Drinkablitiy???
Yeah great ad campaign!! I guess Bud is the only beer that is drinkable??? Pretty dumb commercials!:cheers2:
|
The little Red Head in the tailgate one is Cute though....:hee:

washes those $5 footlongs down real sweet though Larry :hee:
|
beer of choice lately has been Octoberfest
but it goes down to easy like new castle does... i have to be real care of inexpensive watery beer i can sometimes drink just one..... (disaster strikes) and the next day i have a brain splitting headache and hangover so bad that i want to call 911 but strangely ales or dark beer never affect me that way.... |
Oh definitely the red head Karl :kewl:
|
I 2nd that Octoberfest, its my favorite beer this time of year....
and Newcastle aint bad either... that Budweiser though....uhhh, I dont know about that. Fosters on the other hand, is an excellent light (not lite) beer. |
Just to clarify. I think these are Bud Light commercials right? You can bash Bud Light all you want. Bud heavy is another story. :spin:

Bud "Heavy"....I think thats a Stretch :hihi:
Buds a great beer to have when you're mowing the lawn or doing yardwork....It will actually refresh you. (at least thats what I tell myself) |
bud light starts to come into its own, and the drinkability factor starts to emerge, after about 12 beers :buds: . anything less than that, stick to the good stuff.
basically, the ad should say that if you want to drink heavily all day, bud light is the way to go |
Bud Light is the beer you drink when you want to Smash heads with your buds and say 'Dude, I kicked the whole 30 pack"
|
You couldn't pay me to drink ANY bud.
Give me a Guiness, Harpoon, Sam, Rolling Rock, Smithwicks or for a really quick blitz (you skip over the buzz and go right to drunk) I'll look for Samiclaus (?) It's the world's strongest beer, or at least it was the last time I checked. To give you an idea, 1 bottle is like drinking 6 of anything else. A 6-pack is like a case, and the cost reflect this. It taste a and does down like apple schnapps. Ok, this is a special beer, but the others are my regulars. |
Worlds Strongest beer is Sam Adams Utopias @ 24% ABV
Samichlaus is the Worlds Strongest Lager @ 14% ABV...but its a hell of a lot cheaper than Utopias.....$5 a bottle comapred to $200...so you can have 40 of them |
:cheers:Gimme a Green Hornet anytime. Bud (heavy or lite) would be an option only if all the breweries in Europe and Canada:splat: simultaneously imploded, leaving only one whiskey, one scotch and one............:rotflmao:
|
something about corona's make ya piss like you just chugged a keg....
must be that special water in mexico :buds: |
canadian beer sucks :deer:
give me a GOOD american beer anytime. if i'm having a few beers at a bar or home, give me the good stuff. if i'm drinking all day at a nascar race or party, i've got no issues with bud, bud light, miller light, etc. just keep coors light the hell away from me - if i want water, i'll drink water |
"American Beer is like Making Love in a Canoe"
Jim Koch is my Hero....he's made it acceptable for Mass produced beers to actually be concerned about Flavor.....instead of "Drinkability" |

i'd take red dog or ice house (are either still made, man they sucked) over rolling rock
in fact, i'd take any other beer made over rolling rock pbr is actually pretty good |

i might take rolling rock over bad frog though. |
I used to be an Old Milwaukee guy when it came to cheap beer.
Oh yeah...and PBR pounders were a bargain too.... |

The Pinnacle of Cheap Beer...$3.96 a case.
|
i forgot all about bad frog. i think i actually had a bad frog tee shirt in college.
"do it froggy style" |
a word of warning from the center for disease control to those who drink cheap beer:
"Cheap beer prices may a have direct effect on increases in sexually transmitted disease (STD) among young people, according to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Everytime beer taxes go up or the legal drinking age is raised, gonorrhea rates usually dropped among young people, according to Alcohol Policy and Sexually Transmitted Disease Rates --United States, 1981--1995 published April 28, 2000 by the CDC." i may make this my signature |
Lately I've been going south of the border and love this stuff  -->
http://www.beerstore.com.au/beerstor..._Special_L.jpg as a poor youth, the cheapest beer I ever drank was --> http://diversioncansafes.com/otherimages/exp/52012s.jpg :yak4: |
Wow, Hamm's is a blast from the past. In college, we used to go north of the border (to NH) and buy cases of Piels and Black Label.
Aside from Coors Lite, probably the worst beer for me as far as drinkability was when I used to go up to Syracuse and all the parties had were kegs of Gennessee. That stuff went down like a cup full of thumbtacks in sawdust. We quickly learned to drink a lot before heading out to the parties. |
I have been a Miller Lite guy since day one......it actually has flavor (yeah it tastes great) but it does! Bud on the other hand....is quite frankly.....swill! Miller is also swill!! I think I might drink the Bud before the Miller!! MGD is good, Coors Light.......oh boy now there is a vile container of goat piss if ever I have tasted one!!:yak: Has to be one of the worst beers ever! Corona is good on a hot day with the lime! I have enjoyed the Harpoon line of beers!
Hamms, Red Dog, Pabst, Schlitz, Schaefer, Gansett', Red, White and Blue.....I would never lower myself! |
Quote:
Pabst and Schlitz aren't that bad......Try a Narragansett :yak: |
don't forget
McEwens Scottish ale... a few of those and your pretty much drunk on yer ass... lol
it has a taste that you have to acquire though-> a bit second choice is Belhaven Scottish Ale hell they started brewing it in 1571, i think it was.... supposedly any beer that comes in a green bottle goes skunky because the green glass allows to much light in... Ok JohnR where are ya....? we need some German beer recommended about now... too much "swill beer" out on the Market.... i haven't tried wachusett yet however... |
PBR gets a bad rap and they sell 'em for a $1 at the avenue in Brighton on Sat. Night. Rolling Rock is pretty bad, my old roomate used
And I was basically raised on that schlitz, not that I will touch that stuff anymore. And yes, icehouse is still made, far more common in the south though. |
BigFish,
I'm with you on the Miller Lite. Tastes good and it is less of a gut builder. Fishsmith, I'm also a fan of Dos Equis. I lived on that stuff when I was on my honeymoon. Ever hear of Bud mud? Well Dos Equis mierdas are 10 times worse so be careful. |
Raven, There are actually a Lot of good beers on the market. The Micro brew revolution really got brewing good beer into the mainstream.
30 years ago you had pilsners....as far as the eye could see, and that was about it. ocassional Guinness would pop up. Good beer back then was St. Pauli Girl or Heineken. :yak: Now you can go in a liqour store or "Packy" and get Porters, Stouts, Ales, Lagers, Heffewiezens, IPA's, ESB's, Belgian Abby Ales, Barley Wines. The list goes on and on. Beers with Fruit (Raspberry Wheat, Strawberry Blonde), Beers with Chocolate (Chocolate Stouts) , Beers with Honey (Honey Wheat), Beers with Maple Syrup (Maple Porters), beers with Vegetables (Pumpkin Ales, Chili Pilsner :yak:). There is a smorgasboard of good and great beers out there now. You want a taste treat for fall...have a Black and Tan made with Guiness and Post Road (or any other) Pumpkin Ale.... |
MMMMMMMM I can't take much more, today has 'liquid lunch' written all over it.
|
Pumpkin Ale! :hang:
I pass on any beer with a strong cinnamon flavor. |
haffenreffer
Matz beer balls Those were the fave in college :hee: I like the occasional Heiny now. FROSTED glass. |
Salty...you mean "Heffenwreckers"??:bgi:
|
Quote:
|
Haffenreffer was the beer that gave you the best bang for the buck
Your buzz never seemed to go away when you were drinking those...stayed with you for hours. Bad choice if your planning on sneaking past the parents that night.....Got me nailed in high school |

On a side note, the place where I usually go does a thing called "beer flights". It's a take off on wine flights, which apparently are pretty popular with the wine crowd. You get four small glasses, each with 4 ounces of a different beer in it. You get to try a total of 36 beers over the course of time. They have everything from seasonals, largers, pilsners, bocks, Japanese beers, etc.. This is something to be done in multiple sittings for obvious reasons, but it's a great way to try different types of beer. The good looking bartenders at this place don't hurt either.:heybaby: |
