These are for Backbeach Jake. He challanged me to make one of my small spooks in any color I wanted. Did up a classic jiggy blue. Figured that wasn't much of a challange, so I did up a larger version, in a sort of olive mac color. Figured he is getting on in years, so I personalized it for him as a helpful reminder who he is :hihi:

That is sweet! Thru wired? The front view is extremely helpful! I've got a couple in the works right now and am struggling with the nose shape a bit.

Here's a danny for redneck24. It's a very pale wonderbread like the old pearl bombers. It's one of my 3 'go to' colors.
It is 5 1/2 " and 2.5 oz. It has about 1/4 inch of lead in the tail which is just enough to take most of the tumble out of the cast without affecting the action too much. I tied a tail for it but I did not close the eye of siwash so he can fish it that way or swap it for a rear treble if he prefers 2 trebles.. |
some really sweet stuff so far.......BF, can you put those into production so that I can buy one, that thing is awesome...

Here's a little monster for Saltydog

He said he did not have anything with a surfster lip, well his first is hopefully a special one. This baby is 8 1/2" long and 4.5 oz. We seem to agree on big baits! Wood is AWC. All custom. I cut the lip with tinsnips from 24g stainless and shaped it on a doming block (took a few tries to get it close). The glass eyes originally were clear and I painted them red. Its funny he should ask about the cupped eye sockets, because this one has them. The paint scheme is my favorite old Creek Chub pattern, White Scale. I don't tie often, so I am a little rusty, but the tail matches the paint. Retrieve this one slowly right on top for some tail wagging action. It does roll some, but the white sides flash like crazy and I believe will pull in some fish.
Saltydog, I can mail this baby or bring it to plugfest. If you want me to mail it, PM your address. I hope you enjoy it and catch a cow! Larry, this was great idea. Thanks for the opportunity to build specific to a fellow angler and builder's request. |
