Playing around with Peaches
 

I have been playing around with this new squid color called peach and I think that it works.:D A few guys on here have seen it, but not that many. A friend of mine that I gave some to landed a 47.5" bass the other day on it, that given the measurements went 42# and off to swim another day.

Congrats! I'd say your plug passed the fishability test.

His rubber is sick. I'll be fishing it tonight hopefully in that ditch. You have to see his jigheads that he pours as well. Super quality stuff. Mike I have to get you a few pieces of Alan's rubber and some lead.

Great job Alan. I will be trying them in morning if I can get up early enough to hit that tide.

Alan's plastic is superior to most plastics on the market. The action and durability is second to none.

Hey Alan,
It was good to meet you and your "product testing" crew on Wednesday while I fished with Rick. That day, fishing the big peach, we got a bunch of nice bass. Nothing under 30" and the largest was 39" that Rick pulled in.

Just the blow-ups on those things were heart stopping. All in all, not bad for daytime fishing. :D

You may be right - or not. According to Rick, the angler, weight estimate was based on tables that account for length and girth measurements. The fish was released to fight another day.

Maybe you could post a couple pics of your 40's to give us a better idea of what they should look like?

After two days of Hew England fishery Management Council Herring Oversight Committee Meetings I actually towed the skiff to the ramp at 4 am Sat morning just to watch the called 12-14 moh win actually blow an easy 25...real rough...

We went home and came back out for the evening tide...Alan's rubber caught the most...white/pearl was the best for me...two others from this board slayed em as well...best fish in the 20 pound class...I'll take it on an 8 foot rod !!!!!

I tried black and white with no fish this morning, then went to purple and had a fish on virtually every drift.

Ronz are great, super product. But, I have just been fishing with Alan's rubber this season. He has a great jighead/hook and some really cool colors.

I'll have to look out for the jigheads because that is definitely one place that the ronZ is lacking but as far as the actual bait I don't think you can beat them. What weight range are the jig heads available in?

1 1/2, 3, 5 oz. I believe. I'll let him post some pics and give the details on the hook and swivel configuration. I think the patent is pending. He's on a charter today hopefully he'll post tonight.

Would love to see a 3/4 oz and 1 oz leadhead with a hook as strong as Andrus uses on their bucktails in those sizes. I still don't think anyone is making a leadhead with a strong hook in that size other than the Ronz tuna rigs.

Alan has a Diesel hook on his jigheads - 9/0 and 11/0 Owners.

The heads are 1.5 and 3. There are a few 4oz floating around somewhere too:huh: I have been and will look at a lighter head, but I have to make all the stuff, so I can't go to crazy with number of sizes/color combo's on either the plastic or lead. The biggest thing is having a good hook with a big shank in a small head. To fish big rubber you don't always need a heavy head, but you do need a big hook with a long shank, and a wider gap.

Alan's plastic is every bit as good as Ronz. A lot of the high hook charter guys are using Alan's rubber with amazing success as are some of the best surf guys. For the offshore crowd Alan's bait works great and has been incorporated into many boat's spreads. The jig heads are unreal and more than adequate for any bass we will encounter.

It was a monster of a fish and it ate the peach rubber on my 3oz head on the spinning rod.
Sunday we almost got spooled on the same combo on a 50W.

Alan very nice. Your rubber has established itself as THE go to rubber this year for tuna fishing. The plastic catches insane amounts of fish.

Canal, Friday night, mid-tide. Black 'Got Stryper' rubber 3 oz jig head. Nearly pulled me off my rock, the other fish we had stacked up in front of us were shorts to barely legals. She was 44.5 inches 30+lbs.

*I did keep this fish for a pats game cookout yesterday and everybody loved it, I usually release all my fish.

** This fish did exact a bit of revenge as we were trying to stuff it into the baskets on Keepereapers pink Huffy the fish slid out and one of its spines punctured a huge hole in his tire.

What a total disaster that night was. But you should have seen the kids face when I brought the bike in and asked if he could put on glow in the dark tires.

I got a new species to add to the list of fish that like the peach.
Friday I was down in NC and got a 15# gag grouper, bit off by a king, and a shark on the 9" peach on a 2.5 and 3 oz head. I know nothing about grouper fishing other than I was told it was a decent fish for that area.
