Dolomite powder
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...UYS/head-1.png
the nutritious calcium /magnesium powder you stir in milk it totally soothes your nerves.....especially the magnesium there are sleep tapes available too---they work wonders. when ya first listen to them.... it takes fifteen minutes to fall asleep after about 2 weeks just hearing them has you asleep and i mean a deep sleep ....in less than 5 minutes... ALSO bee pollen will knock you out bigtime ,,,but buy the bulk type at a health food store that is multi colored as its usually fresher than the capped in a bottle variety. |
I have ta try this

power napping
this has been proven by sleep science/research
you lay on your stomach fully dressed with shoes on with your feet extended just over the edge of the bed pointing downwards for the 20-60 minute duration.... i don't know why that works but it does |
power napping, my favorite hobby
|
Get laid
Always ends up in ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
|
Sometimes a cup of warm milk helps.
|
Ugg... I'm a mess today. Problem from yesterday was the Bold large coffee from starbucks- rocket fuel.
No coffee this morning and i feel like Jack from The Shining. :smash: Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
i have insomnia too
It's 1:15 am and i can't get to sleep---period---:fury:
can't shut off the ole brain it seems:smash: so.... i just stirred a large spoon of Dolomite into a cup of milk and i took four melatonin pills ....which i totally forgot to mention in response to Nebe's post Insomnia ...it sucks Our bodies produce melatonin ....but you need exposure to sunlight for you to produce sufficient quantities...of it somehow its tied to the photoperiod .....ie the length of daylight (wishing i had some bee pollen damnit) PLUS it's a full moon and that always keeps my mind workin over time... perhaps the chocolate (which either is caffeinated) kinda /sorta acts like caffeine in the cookies i had... |
Try stop drinking coffee after 2 pm. Several of my co-workers complain about it and eventually figured out no afternoon java for them.
I on the other hand can drink a pot of coffee and fall right a sleep like a baby with warm milk. We are all getting older and our bodies change. :( If you worry or stress too much over things, you won't sleep well either. ;) |

I very rarely sleep thru a night. Once every 6 months or so. Go to bed no later than 10and am awake by 3 after napping on and off all night. I can mark every hour on the clock. I've learned to live with it except that I'll nod off just before the alarm rings.:smash:
|

|
i try not to
hit the hay until the first nod off... "the signal"
then i know that within minutes of my head hitting the pillow i'll be out like a light. i took dolomite and melatonin last night and it zonked me out real good... problem with waking up every hour is your not getting into the deeper rem sleep a Japanese inventor built this specialized sleeping chair (recliner) that gives you 8 hours in four man oh man........ i wish i had one of those it almost pays to have the digital alarm clock in a totally seperate room within hearing distance |
I think I can get a better sleep in the recliner in front of TV most nights?
|
Quote:
I do that a LOT ! Start off in bed, wake up during the night, end up on a reclining chair w/ tv on and kind of go back to sleep. |
You sure you guys arent suffering from sleep apnea??
|
tv is soothing somehow
problem is you get programmed then your wondering why you need the sham-wow |

Isn't sleep apnea a fat person thing ? |
Quote:
It's estimated that more than 12 million American adults have obstructive sleep apnea. More than half of the people who have this condition are overweight. Thin people develop the disorder, too. Sleep apnea is more common in men. One out of 25 middle-aged men and 1 out of 50 middle-aged women have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea becomes more common as you get older. At least 1 out of 10 people over the age of 65 has sleep apnea. Women are much more likely to develop sleep apnea after menopause. African Americans, Hispanics, and Pacific Islanders are more likely to develop sleep apnea than Caucasians. If someone in your family has sleep apnea, you're more likely to develop it. People who have small airways in their noses, throats, or mouths also are more likely to have sleep apnea. Smaller airways may be due to the shape of these structures or allergies or other medical conditions that cause congestion in these areas. Small children often have enlarged tonsil tissues in the throat. This can make them prone to developing sleep apnea. Other risk factors for sleep apnea include smoking, high blood pressure, and risk factors for stroke or heart failure. |
eating after 4 pm and copious amounts of malted beverage do have signifigant causation attributes :grins:

will wake up, sometimes not too pleasantly... and that is just what it is..body craving more... I have had bouts of insomnia on and off my whole life... I will say this... elminated booze years ago.. coffee a few years ago.. working on chocolate... been good lately..but crave it like a mad man.. exercizing more...resumed my mad man walks, and have even been doing old fashioned stuff like push ups and stuff... plus side is, I have dropped 15 pounds this year..so far... I hope more goes away...and I feel much better shut the damn TV off and the PC too.. a good hour or better before you even think about getting into bed.... this helps immensely... you wind down, decompress.. and you are ready...I fall asleep quicker, sleep deeper undisturbed, and actually feel rested come morning... Even with more stress in my life.. I know I am getting more sleep lately..due to changing a few old habits but.. I would still do strange things for chocolate RIGHT NOW ;)... :jump1::wall::smash::devil2: I've quit a lot of things..smokin, drinkin, coffee and other stuff.. but damn that devil chocolate got a hold of me.... |

Nestle's...or even Hersheys.. altho they have changed the blend on that, and it is kinda god awful... even a Resses Peanut Butter cup....... and Saltfly will attest.. we have a little shop of chocolate "horrors' right here in town that is amazing.. I am good and just drive by now... the chocolate sparrow.. |

nobody at s-b should drink DIET anything soda's Aspartame is one NASTY ingrediant... with 90 different ailments associated with it... google it and see for yourself problem with chocolate it often has caffeine in it.... so eating some will keep you up too. one trick i learned is to use isometrics in bed where you tighten a muscle group -> like your legs then relax them and move around until you get relaxed then its just a matter of controling your breathing rate. |
important ADDITION
to this thread.... concerning :point: INSOMNIA
Now, Don't scoff at this advice/suggestion please until you try it... I completely over looked it... earlier (oops Sorry):wall: Question? What DIRECTION are you presently sleeping? If you are sleeping (facing) EAST and WEST with your Body on the bed.... you'll get lousey sleep and wake up often the best direction is sleeping NORTH and SOUTH you can try it just by sleeping across your bed for a nap and see how it works for you... We recently made the switch and my sleep time has almost DOUBLED :btu: which is Why i am refreshing this thread |
Being overweight can cause sleep apnea, BUT there are lots of people out there who have it and they aren't fat or obese. I got to quarterly sleep disorder seminars and I usually get people glaring at me because I am "skinny" compared to them. I could lose 30 lbs, but these folks could use hundreds of pounds! ;) I tried sinus surgery and that didn't work so I just use a CPAP machine now. 99% of the people use the humidifier with theirs, I'm the 1% who can stand the dry mouth and deal with it. Advantage is have never needed to wash the hoses and masks every few days. Heck, I haven't washed my mask for 6 months and aside from some cat hair stuck on the outside due to static, it looks brand new.
I find if I take sometime between dinner and bed time it can mess me up so I can't fall asleep until later. Sleep apnea is no joke - you will DIE a young age if you don't address it sooner than later. I found out I had it because my wife told me I stop breathing and she ends up elbowing me so I take a breath. It is a pain to go do a sleep study - they superglue sensors all over your head and hair and when they send you home you still have to pick the darn glue off yourself over the next couple of days. This is how they learn what pressure setting to use to keep your air way open so you can breath correctly and get REM sleep. I use a full face mask because it works if I open my mouth with the nose ones and air hisses out and wakes me up. |
up all night with the storms and the third day on one NASTY burn on my leg from the motorcycle exhaust. Outside corner left front shin.
