There's been a couple of Bright spots this year so far....Beltre has been stroking the Ball well. And Hermida keeps hitting in limited play. Lackey has also been pitching well.

They have the two worst throwing arms in baseball, in Varitek and Martinez.

Someone should have clued in Theo over the winter that if the new look Sox are all about "pitching and run-prevention", turning any walk into a de facto double because their catchers can't throw out a freaking guy on crutches isn't the best way to achieve that. :rollem:

Varitek can't throw either, so you gain nothing with him behind the plate. Teams were running wild on him last year.

I'm pretty sure Tampa Bay had 7 against him in a game last year, a few more base runeers and who knows. I think Crawford had a 4 steal game against him that day....Mike P is right, Veritek can't throw anybody out either.

And the Rangers actually stole 8 off of Veritek/Wakefield last year. Don't get me wrong I was a big Tek fan.....guy calls a great game, but he has been terrible throwing runners out the past few years
