Celts

Advance after last nights win.

If (when) they face the Cavs, I'm not too confident they will make it past them.

At least there is more home team B-ball to watch.

spinncognito 04-29-2010 06:01 AM

Cavs are beatable if LJ is truly hurting. :uhuh:

EarnedStripes44 04-29-2010 11:05 AM

Its a tough road ahead. Cavs are going to create some tough front court issues. They have three 7-footers. As to the backcourt, A lot is riding on Ray Allen. If he shows up, we will win. He is a little bigger than their starting 2-guard West who is far from as fast or the defensive player that Dwayne Wade is. I don't know who is going to guard L. James; we would need a Ron Artest or a Tayshaun Prince. We don't have anyone strong or fast enough for the job. Even if they beat the Cav's they still have to plow through Orlando. If we beat those two teams, we will win the Chip. But a lot has to go right, and we have to win at home, and on the road. I hesitate to say this is a challenge that can't be overcome, but I'm being realistic. On the bright side, we are a much better coached team. But we will have to grab boards and move the ball. I'd much rather see us play Atlanta but we squandered that opportunity on those blown games at the season's end.

Van 05-02-2010 09:43 AM

WTF was that last night?

Looked like the Celts layed down in the fourth.
GEEZZZ, crappy passes, crappy shots.
Not even an attempt to take a quick shot with 1 minute left.

The Cavs are definatley beatable, but I dont understand what that was.

ProfessorM 05-02-2010 11:15 AM

had them right where they wanted and fell apart. Rondo is playing himself into the best guards around. Luv watching him play. Pierce couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. he score we win IMO. Every one needs to be at the top to beat this team. Let one get away.

MarshCappa 05-03-2010 09:19 PM

Unless they totally fall apart this series is tied up now. The Kings elbow looks like it is a problem. Hmmmmmm, new series!

Van 05-03-2010 10:23 PM

104-86

Ahhh that feels better.:uhuh::uhuh:
Lots better...:jump1:

Yea he looked like he was hurting.

And if that's the cavs without LJ, they may not make it
past the celts .:bc::bc:

Dad 818 05-04-2010 09:58 AM

Should be up 2-0. :smash: :fury:

Funny, LBJ's elbow seemed fine lifting up his MVP trophy.

luds 05-04-2010 11:35 AM

Clogston pointed out the other night how rediculous Pierce has been with the drawing contact. I hadn't picked up on it but I he embarrassed himself last night with that move. It was hard to watch. Have to agree with Prof M. If Pierce can score the C's should do well. We 100% miss Garnett's dominance but he is a hell of a role player and big baby.....sorry glen seems to step up at times which has filled some of the void. I got pissed last night when TNT didn't have Rondo as one of the top 3 guards in the game but I guess they're right. If he can develop a mid to long range jump shot he moves right up there IMO.

Toggling back between the B's and C's last night was enjoyable. Wish I had some frosties.

ProfessorM 05-04-2010 03:35 PM

sweet. RONDO for president

JamesJet 05-04-2010 08:51 PM

Totally think the Cavs can be beat, but after watching this team all season for some reason they don't play as well at home and really don't play well in day games. I don't know their daytime record but I assure you its not good. Those are two factors that dont bode well for this weekend.
Additionally I am sick of hearing about LeBron's elbow. If it was really that bad he would not be slamming the backboard to block shots or any other power moves. He did drop in his first dunk the other night but seemed to do better later. He seemed to shoot fine, drive fine, and even had a few shots with contact.
I will be at both games so if anyone is going shoot me a PM, I am usually at Halftime pizza / Sully's before the game.

ProfessorM 05-07-2010 07:10 PM

Ah Celts in case you didn't know you got a friggin game tonite:wall: WTF is this I am watching. Going to the B's now.

Dad 818 05-07-2010 07:52 PM

Whatever momentum that was gained in the Game 2 win, was lost with the 4 DAY layoff.

NBA Playoff Schedule is a joke. Playoffs started in April and won't end until June.

The Dad Fisherman 05-07-2010 09:40 PM

A Big OH'fer for the Boston Teams tonight...:wall:

JohnR 05-07-2010 09:58 PM

Ouch...

afterhours 05-08-2010 07:00 AM

i had a bad feeling going into last night about the trifecta...:smash:

Van 05-09-2010 08:53 AM

Strange series so far. Two blowouts, each at home...??:huh:

I'm not a hockey fan, but I switched to watching the screen with the Bs. Me and my buds were at a sports bar and MAN was
that place hopping :bounce::bounce::bounce:!!:cheers2:

until the OT....:smash::smash:

As for the celts, I am skeptical about todays game..

ProfessorM 05-09-2010 08:34 PM

Rondo takes control again. Back to being a series again. Please Paul please show us some offense, we need you.

Slipknot 05-09-2010 08:40 PM

You said it Paul, we need Paul to step it up on offense, and i bet he will

I said 2 years ago Rondo will be a star and he IS
good for him:uhuh:
glad to see them win

Van 05-10-2010 07:27 AM

James does well the Cavs win....James does poorly the Cavs lose.

Rondo was fun to watch. Imagine if he had a killer jump shot.

Good game

Dad 818 05-11-2010 10:03 PM

Damn this team is tough to figure out!

Great team win. As Garnett said after the game "We cannot come back to Cleveland for a Game 7"

JohnR 05-12-2010 06:50 AM

Good, solid, game last night. This is there chance to beat the Cavs and move on. grab it.

Got that right.

But again,, James does poorly, they lose... period!
They isolated him very well last night.
Keeping the ball out of his hands, he stasy cold.
Talk is he won't stay with Cavs next year.
Maybe a green jersey is in his future..:confused: NAH !!

Will be a sweet win in the Garden......HOPEFULLY......

Saltheart 05-13-2010 02:08 PM

Big game tonight! Rondo is an exciting player to watch. Pierce had just 1 good game and when he did , the Celtics slaughtered Cleveland.

I honestly think its all determined by how the Celtics play. Whether James plays well or not , the Celtics can beat them if they play well. Another good game by Pierce and thats it.

FishermanTim 05-13-2010 03:22 PM

If the Celts can keep Lebron from "getting" into his groove, they can win the game. If they start "falling back on their heels" as they say in football, the Cavs will run right over them.

Who the hell was that and what did he do with Rasheed Wallace?

Now onto the team that beat us last year.

Yea no kidding..that was awwwwsome.
And seeing KG get hot and hitting shots was doubly awwwsome.

Rondo is not from this planet.........

Whats up with Pierce though, didn't do squat until late in the game?

ProfessorM 05-14-2010 09:15 AM

Can we please get a little props for the defense. The defense was a major reason Lebron and the Cavs had such a tough go of it. I am sick of hearing about he had a bad series and they, Cavs, didn't play up to their potential . Lebron this and Lebron that. The D had a lot to do with it.
Looking forward to the next round. Going to be a tough series but I wouldn't put it past them to win.

Saltheart 05-14-2010 09:53 AM

I thought Lebron played well. almost 30 points and 20 rebounds , 10 assists. Can't expect more than that from a guy. The Celtics are just a better team. Pierce was in foul trouble from the get go on cheap calls I thought. His fourth foul was invisible! He played good for the time he had but I think he maybe got 10 minutes?

KG played really well on both ends. Orlando may be the team that beat them last year but last year they didn't have KG. I think it changes everything. Should be a good series .

Turnovers are killer in the playoffs and Lebron had like 10 or something like that. That almost negates hi scoring. Pierce is going to have to to show up at some point if they're going to have a shot agains the Magic.

FishermanTim 05-14-2010 10:53 AM

One real positive is the skill and intensity level that Perkins, Davis and Tony Allen have risen to in this series. Even with Pierce having an off night the offense stepped up and the defense had Lebron's number for most of the night.

Bring on Orlando!

Dad 818 05-14-2010 11:06 AM

Perk plays Howard very well (if they allow him to play). Tony Allen's energy was huge against the Cavs.

I don't see a huge series for Pierce. Matt Barnes plays him very tough, almost as well as Artest does and we know how that is. Artest is in his head ever since he pulled his shorts down.

That said, this is a series the Celts can win.

We beat "D-Wade" and "The King/Chosen One/MVP/blah blah blah".
Now it's time to kill "Superman"

ProfessorM 05-14-2010 04:12 PM

Nelson will play a major role too and they didn't have a healthy him last year. It will be close.

Totally agree.

And I forgot the KUDOS to T.A.. Man hes got energy and brings it to the unit on the court.

I noticed that the "talking heads" could not stop talking about Lebron the WHOLE FREAKIN GAME........ Geeeeezzzzz.

Slipknot 05-15-2010 05:13 PM

glad to see the Celts win
ya all the slobbering and lovefest over Labron reminds me too mush of all the Brett Favre buttkissing attention whoring:smash:

I agree Paul
Props to D
big difference this years playoffs with a healthy KG
and Rondo a year more experience

ProfessorM 05-16-2010 07:40 PM

nice. seat squirmier at end but i'll take it. Their defense is relentless although I think they were getting tired at the end, they ain't sprig chickens anymore.

Totally agree....Orlando is a pretty young team.

How old is D Howard? Like 25 or so??

The edge of my seat is worn from the last series..have to get a new one.:rotf2:
